Basically, I’ve spent my entire life looking for love and for my “soulmate”, and have made tremendous sacrifices for women who didn’t particularly care about me, but were more than happy to use me. I’ve been married, and have spent most of my life in long-term relationships. I have spent terrifying sums of money, given up excellent opportunities, dropped friends, moved across the country, and done other fantastically stupid things for women.

My story is similar to many.

I started to wake up about a year ago, and started reading various mgtow forums, watching videos and blogs, and realized that I had been sold a bill of goods. That everything I had been told, from childhood, was either fantasy or simply a lie. The books I read, tv shows and movies I watched, songs I listened to were mostly created out of wish fulfillment or by people at the start of a relationship. They weren’t reality. They were fiction.

I have spent literally thousands of hours on dating sites, and wildly more time than that – tens of thousands of hours – working on relationships that were doomed from the start. It’s been a rough year, and I’ve fought a tremendous amount of anger and depression after taking the red pill and realizing what the world was -really- like. I am rebooting my life in many ways, like many people in the mgtow community.

Welcome Elric and thanks for sharing.
It still sounds like you’re digesting the Red Pill. It’s a disturbing initiation into the reality of male/female dynamics.
All those wonderful dreams vaporize into nothingness and we temporarily seem to be more lost than we’ve ever been.
We hadn’t realized how much life focus we placed on the goal of securing the “Right” partner till we realize the goal is fictional and we stop chasing it.

It doesn’t last that long. Soon you’ll emerge from the abyss and experience a type of peace you thought was never possible.
You’ll get a sense of freedom and life control you’ve probably never had.
You’ll find the peace, companionship and the bits of happiness you always chased. You’ll realize It was never in some other person, it was always within you. That’s why you could never find it.

We all hope you get through the discovery stage as quickly as possible. Seeing how others have experienced the same helps enormously.
