I have been working for this company for about ten months now. Over the course of my first four months, women have become 70% of our board of directors and upper management staff. Our menial labor force has been allowed to run rampant and abuse the benefits system, our engineers have been burdened with all the roles of being managers without any of the pay or titles but all of the responsibilities, and to top it all off only women are getting advanced at a rapid rate. I just found out that a girl who got hired four months after me (so she’s worked for this company for a shorter period of time), has been pushing overtime despite our manager warning us that our company has gone over our projected labor hours (due to inefficiencies), and does not demonstrate a solid understanding of the type of work we do is going to be put on the fast-track for management. I also found out that the area supervisor that does not spend time managing the shop floor and cannot make a decision on how to support production is going to become the new program manager.

What’s the point of even working hard at your job when people who are more incompetent than you get advanced above you and you wind up having to do their work for them without any advancement in pay or prestige, but all their responsibilities and accountability gets shoveled on you? Feminism clearly won, I don’t know how I’m going to carry on since they have already f~~~ed with my rights, my religion, my entertainment, my education, and now my “bread and butter”. Anyone who talks about the bulls~~~ pay gap can go f~~~ themselves.

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."

I think having your own business is always better, even if you make less money. You avoid so much of this mental trauma which you describe.

The problem is that starting a business will likely drive the person further in debt. With all the regulations, taxes, and political bulls~~~ right now, starting your own business is risky.

Keep mind that women and minorities will get government grants, tax breaks, and customer connections to start their own businesses, while you are starting from scratch with no help. The situation is so rigged it is not even worth trying.

I suggest you are start looking into minimalism and ghosting as much as you can off the grid.

I agree. It’s very risky. The alternative is corporate castration.

It’s worth trying so you won’t have any regrets. At least, that’s what my reason was. I am not afraid to fail because I know I tried and gave it everything I had.

I suggest you are start looking into minimalism and ghosting as much as you can off the grid.

This is what I would do if my business were to ever fail or go under. I would never go back to the corporate world.

The corporate world is eating itself alive. At this point, there are no real options. Minimalism is only an option from a lack of options. Minimalism will help you have food and shelter in a situation where society wants to take everything from you and leave you with nothing, not even your achievements.

No arguments there. I am a big fan of minimalism. I apply it in my life as much as I can.

Any way you can get out and get to a better place?

Could you offer the same kinds of things from a solo consulting spot? Or take a few guys that know their s~~~, along with you and start up something yourselves?

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

What we do is highly specialized, plus I pretty much just started my career and this was the first place willing to hire me despite having less than five years of in-industry experience. I need more funds and to build my resume, right now I’m thinking of getting at least two years in before I move on; living where I do and working where I do is just ridiculous. Sorry if most of what I’m saying about my situation is nebulous by the way, I’m a paranoid guy and just don’t want to risk doxing mostly because just finding a job this early in my life is so difficult.

You would. I actually thought it was at first too. The first thought that came to mind when I saw the topic was, “Bob McNair”.

I am basically a corporate wage slave (albeit a very well compensated one) so i can relate to a lot of what you’re saying.

What’s the point of even working hard at your job when people who are more incompetent than you get advanced above you and you wind up having to do their work for them without any advancement in pay or prestige, but all their responsibilities and accountability gets shoveled on you?

A-f~~~ing-men brother. You’re absolutely right, there is no point.

When i first joined with my company I worked hard to prove myself. But my work went mostly unnoticed and like you, females were given all the opportunities, all the credit, with very little accountability. If anything, i just got f~~~ed even harder. So you know what i did? I stopped working as hard.

I do the things i feel are important at my job. I truly believe i am very good at what i do, and i take very good care of my patients. But all the bulls~~~ my corporate taskmasters want me to do, i don’t even bother anymore. There’s really no reason to, no incentive in it for me at all. I just don’t care anymore.

Anyway, i don’t have any great answers for you. Ive been with my company about a year and a half, and remember feeling like you. Now i just don’t give a f~~~. I show up, do what i have to do, collect my paychecks, and go home. I don’t give them anything more than i am absolutely required to. Hell i usually spend at least a solid half hour to one hour per day on here or solving chess puzzles on my phone, instead of working hard all day like i used to. Still get paid the same.

Stay at a neutral position so when the heads roll, which is inevitable, you will be one of the few left. A company can’t run properly with bad management at the top just ask Yahoo.

Never lose sight of what brought you here.

Be glad you have a job, ignore the politics. Get a couple of years experience and move on.

My dad told me it’s the best You always fly under the radar and everything will be fine. Unfortunately I did not remember his words until very late. Anyway, it’s exciting to watch the crazy goings on.
