Chicago youth stage ‘die-in’ in City Hall to demand defunding of $95 mill cop academy, more community resources

A group of Chicago youth staged a “die-in’ at City Hall to demand that the city defund police and fund marginalized communities instead. The youth, all members of #NoCopAcademy, also announced that the organization is suing Mayor Rahm Emanuel for withholding critical emails regarding construction of the proposed $95 million building for a Police and Fire training center in West Garfield Park.

“Rahm supports schools and resources for cops, not for Black and Brown kids,” their mission reads. “We demand a redirecting of this $95 million into Chicago’s most marginalized communities instead. Real community safety comes from fully-funded schools and mental health centers, robust after-school and job-training programs, and social and economic justice. We want investment in our communities, not expanded resources for police.

———–It is all this until one of them end up cold on the floor and the parents are wanting the police to find out why.
With as rough as that city is to work in they need all the help they can get.
Side note Rahm “dead fish” Emanuel has not had an easy liberal go of things in that city.

Gangs and guncrime stem form poverty and no hope of breaking out of it any other way than crime, the gangs also give the young a misguided sense of belonging.

Happens in inner cities everywhere.

And of course funding never goes to solving the root cause when Manchester’s problems were at their height in the 1990s to early 200s the youth centres, the boxing clubs and people trying get people out of gangs and stop them joining were all local volunteers in the community who received zero funding.

Until these youths break away from their shame based racist culture they will continue to kill each other.
Common sense can’t be taught,or bought.
They have only themselves to blame for the murder rates.
