I’m still going to use Windows and Mac machines for educational purposes, because I do plan on getting a cert called Certified Ethical Hacker but for all my personal needs, I’m switching full time to a Linux operating system.

The only thing I hate about Linux is the screen tearing I occasionally get from it because I use Flash a lot. Otherwise, it’s far superior to Windows. I would switch to Mac, but I don’t have enough money to buy one at the moment.

    The operating system of choice:

    Sparky Linux GameOver Edition.

I highly recommend it for Linux users who still want to play games on their PC.

I’m fully sympathetic! There are some utilities that require Windows that I need. I’d love a Windows simulator in linux, but I’m in doubt that there is one that will do the job for me.

I have Flash off all my machines due to security issues, by the way.

If it weren’t for me being in IT, I wouldn’t need Windows or Mac.
But, ever since Windows 8 came out, I’ve started to hate Microsoft even more. I hate their business practices and I hate most if not all of their products.

And yeah, it sucks that a lot of us have to stick with Windows or Mac just because of certain applications. if it weren’t for that, I bet Linux would dominate the market share over night.

I keep flash on because on a lot of websites I still go to (porn and otherwise) still use Flash. So I keep it on their for those reasons haha.

But, at least since I’m switching to Linux, I can just use Chrome if I need Flash.

xvideos doesn’t use flash, and is actually trying out its new HTML5 player. One less reason to keep Flash. I refuse to keep it installed for security reasons.

Even a very old linux book for say $5 will a wealth of info.

I once got this really f~~~ed up used book. it was all taped together and filled with “The half blood prince” type notes.

THAT book made my career..from that.. I learned much.

I have a couple of old Linux books in a box somewhere. I need to get them out. I’m no novice when it comes to Linux, but I’m not Guru either. So these books will definitely help a lot.

I just use Chrome whenever I’m on Linux for Flash. I do go to xvideos, but there are quite a few hentai (cartoon porn) sites that only use Flash. Which is why I still use it.

Honestly, if it weren’t for that, I’d never use Flash at all.

I do have a couple books like that. It’s what got me to use Linux, and what got me a headstart compared to most users that first tries out a distro that isn’t “user friendly”.

That, and I use youtube-dl with mpv. Nice python script which is a good video downloader.
