Snow and ice on the road that isn’t plowed scares me and I have to be out in a snowstorm tomorrow going to a doctor’s office. I’m VERY nervous, because I don’t do well when the road is covered in 8 inches of snow (expected by tomorrow), but I have no choice. I have to go to the doctor’s tomorrow, or the government will cut off my disability. It makes me panic when I’m driving in the snow, and the car slides or just won’t stop.

The storm is expected to stop around 9 AM for my part of Chicago and I don’t have to be at the office until 12. Even if the storm ends around 9 AM, will the streets be fine by 11:30? Good thing I only have to travel 6 miles and my dad, who drives for a living, said he’ll take me there.

Seriously, I f~~~ing HATE winter! I don’t see anything good about it! I hate snow, I hate ice (except in my soda), and I hate the cold! Why can’t it be 90 degrees year round in Chicago?!

LOL CHicago is bitter cold dude.. Im wearing shorts and a t-shirt here in dallas bro. Did a 6 mile hike into work today with nothing but tshirt and running shorts.

Move to Dallas already! A few generations ago, all my peeps lived in the mid-west Minnesota and some other places… they got tired of shoveling snow and moved south to Texico. LOL Beaners are everywhere but its warm all year (usually).

Anyway, enough joking on you. I wish you safe travels and I hope you get your disability money if you truly require it. Be well man.

You could take the bus or Uber it? That way YOUR vehicle is not in danger of getting stuck in snow

I’m waiting to leave Chicago Union Station to go home and hear ya about the weather. How about using an Uber/Lyft? Any buses/trains going near there? Leave super early. At least it’s not like that blizzard about six years ago; you’ll be o.k.

I can’t wait for the Snow to hit. So far this Winter has been warm and we have yet to get even an inch of snow. I’ve been so disappointed. No skiing this year.

Tomorrow I’m going to watch the last 2 episodes of Game of Thrones and watch Daenrys get 8 inches of Snow.

I drive a full-sized SUV (Cadillac Escalade) with snow tires. It handles like a dream in the snow. The ironic thing is, I work from home and only drive a few thousand miles a year! Safety on the road is EXTREMELY important. That’s why I paid $1,900 for snow tires and I pay $300/year to store and swap them between my regular, all season tires. I also have 22″ rims for better stopping action and stability when on the road. Those cost about $3,200. So I have over $5,000 invested in tires. F~~~ing crazy!

Then again, I routinely carry $8,000 worth of stuff on me at any given time. 3x $1,000 iPhones, a $500 Apple Watch, a $3,500 laptop (HP business grade computer with 4G wireless so I can go on the internet anywhere without needing WiFi or using a hotspot), and at least $1,000 in cash in my wallet. No one would know this looking at me though. I wear tattered clothes and look like a bum. The looks I get when I step out of my Escalade are priceless.

I like to be stealthy but a large SUV is a must where I live. I got the Escalade for a great price so I decided to go with that, but I was also looking at GMC Yukon’s and Chevy Suburban’s. My car does attract unwanted attention, but I’d rather get unwanted attention than be dead from another big SUV hitting me. You’ve got to have the biggest thing you can get if you want to be safe. Those little compact cars with “advanced” safety features will get crushed like a tin can in an accident with a full-sized SUV. There are too many dumbasses on the road nowadays looking at Facebook on their phones instead of driving their damned cars.

Looking outside this morning, there’s a little snow on the ground, but it doesn’t look too bad. Even if there’s a few more flurries, I’d say you’re gonna be just fine.

Looking outside this morning, there’s a little snow on the ground, but it doesn’t look too bad. Even if there’s a few more flurries, I’d say you’re gonna be just fine.

It’s past 5:30 AM and according to ABC 7 Chicago News, my area in eastern Kane County has so far gotten 1.8 inches, which isn’t quite as bad as I thought it would be by now, but there’s still several more hours of this to go. It looks a tad more than that. You can’t see the pavement, but you can see a dividing line between where the grass is and pavement area. Even if this snowstorm ends by 9 AM, and I have to be out after 11, I just hope the 15 minute route will be taken care of. I haven’t slept all night, because I’ve been watching the storm and TV and internet this whole time. According to the forecast, the people who will get hit the hardest will be near and north of the city of Chicago.

You think I’ll be just fine with what’s fallen so far, but do know that even an inch of snow on the road can still cause people to slip, slide and spinout, and when that happens to me, I panic.

Thank god my dad is going to take me to the doctor’s office, since he’s an expert driver that used to drive a truck for a living since 1994. If I were driving in this s~~~, I probably would be panicking. I hate it when cars slide and don’t stop in time. That’s happened to me years ago with my previous car.

15 minutes ago, as I’m typing this, the village plowed a perimeter around my street. So if the village is out now at 5:30, it should be getting better by time I leave at 11. So seeing him makes me feel a tad better.

I might be making excuse for myself, but I wonder if being scared easily and worrying myself is part of my autistic disability, because I do tend to worry a lot.

I’m sure any doctor will reschedule if ‘severe WX’ is the reason the patient cannot attend the appointment…

The doctor nor me scheduled the appointment. The government did a week ago. Originally they wanted me to go in Thursday, which would of been perfect, but no, they want me to risk my life going out in a snowstorm to continue the process of renewing my disability I’ve been going through since November.

I just got back from the doctor’s office and I feel like a fool. I can’t believe I stayed awake all last night and this morning watching the local forecast, worrying myself about snow and traffic conditions, and the roads were all clear the whole route when I went. I worried myself over nothing! Boy do I feel like a fool now. At least the doctor’s visit went very well. No complaints.

As we mature, it’s natural to consider the potential consequences of things at greater length. We’re not as impulsive. It helps me to work on acceptance, of what is and to pray to accept whatever the result may be of things after I’ve given my best efforts. Seldom do things turn out to be the catastrophe that’s imagined.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Sometimes, we are our own worse enemies.

At least the doctor’s visit went very well. No complaints.

That’s the IMPORTANT thing. Now, you can have a relaxing afternoon and evening.

    I worried myself over nothing!

You over worried about something .

Its natural prepaired switch . Its good you showed some worry it will put plans in motion faster say if the worst did happen and you are preloaded for stress , stress will kill you .

Its the amount of time and emotion given to the situation we fear to face . Control not just of the mind . Ok you can build things up in your mind but have a cut off time and say i blew s~~~ up the last time . Remember it . Take from it . Learn from it .

Good ya all clear at the doctor’s .

THE PLANTATION HAS NOW TURNED INTO THE KILLING FIELDS . WOMAN ARE NOW ROLLING CAMBODIAN STYLE .

    Dear ResidentEvil7,
Lucky dude you live in the Windy City!
We here in Canada are as tough as they come….8 inches of snow…why my dick is longer than that. I’ve seen an inch an hour every hour for 48 hours in a row…. man was that fun..I could walk up snow drifts onto my neighbors rooftop. (I got s~~~ for tobogganing though)
“Snowmageddon” in Washington was joke to Canadians. We go to Siberia to “warm up”!!! It was five degrees warmer.
I’m in the path of Siberian Clippers all the time. I don’t even zip up my coat till -10, put gloves on at -15 and don’t even bother with a hat until-20. Have walked outside at ambient -47 with a fifty mile an hour wind for a windchill of -97. Alcohol freezes at -90 so no windshield washer fluid works.
If I were you …I’d take a lovely stroll down “miracle mile” and few will bother you. Great crowds won’t be out and you’ll have a lovely time.
