If You Could Read My Mind
    Gordon Lightfoot
If you could read my mind, love
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
‘Bout a ghost from a wishing well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
    With chains upon my feet
You know that ghost is me
And I will never be set free
As long as I’m a ghost that you can’t see
If I could read your mind, love,
What a tale your thoughts could tell
    Just like a paperback novel
    The kind the drugstores sell
Then you reached the part where the heartaches come
    The hero would be me
    But heroes often fail
And you won’t read that book again
Because the ending’s just too hard to take!
I’d walk away like a movie star
Who gets burned in a three way script
    Enter number two
A movie queen to play the scene
Of bringing all the good things out in me
But for now, love, let’s be real
I never thought I could feel this way
And I’ve got to say that I just don’t get it
I don’t know where we went wrong
    But the feeling’s gone
And I just can’t get it back
If you could read my mind, love
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
‘Bout a ghost from a wishing well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
    With chains upon my feet
    But stories always end
And if you read between the lines
You’d know that I’m just tryin’ to understand
    The feelin’s that you lack
I never thought I could feel this way
And I’ve got to say that I just don’t get it
I don’t know where we went wrong
    But the feelin’s gone
And I just can’t get it back!

Felt a bit depressed and f~~~ed up listining to it then twisted it back in time when s~~~ was f~~~in cool .

Going back when men and cars were real and so was the music . Use to have parties in the hills and one of the guys was good on a guitar . In this valley the stars just shine . Good times this song he use to play perfect . Heart and soul not for fame or dollar like today’s musicians .

THE PLANTATION HAS NOW TURNED INTO THE KILLING FIELDS . WOMAN ARE NOW ROLLING CAMBODIAN STYLE .

    Brother Awakened:

Listening to that made me wonder if Johnny sang that when he was going through a bout of depression and pill taking. His voice sounds weak and broken like he was during that time. Johnny Cash was a strong man though, pulling himself and his wife through drug abuse.
I’ll stick with “A boy named SUE,” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “Man in black.”

Marry again, Hell NO ! ( Even JESUS was hung on a cross just once)

    The MAN… The LEGEND

Back in the 60-70’s Almost every man could relate to him. Color, Religon,Race, didn’t matter. He WAS the average ordinary man in America.

Sang,(I believe for free) to convicts in Prison.
Name me a male vocalist that does that today.

Marry again, Hell NO ! ( Even JESUS was hung on a cross just once)

    Johnny “f~~~ing” Cash, man.

So many red pills in his later music… My salute to you, old man. Wherever you are, in heaven or hell.

To me, his best music is this:
    Johnny Cash – Hurt

"Young was I once, I walked alone, and bewildered seemed in the way; then I found me another and rich I thought me, for man is the joy of man." Odin, Hàvamàl, stanza 47.

    A Johnny Cash redpill song

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.
