I signed up on a dating site recently. *shudder* I started chatting with this woman (41 but still looks good). She has two kids and is divorced. Come to find out during our messaging back and forth, she was divorced twice. First marriage lasted 10 years and the second lasted 5 (no kids in that one).

Given that info, you’ll say I’m completely nuts for even chatting with her. I would post the same if one of you had posted the above. Anyway, while exchanging messages, I found that we have similar outlooks on things. She’s an only child, easygoing, was shy/wallflower in high school, introverted (like me), doesn’t seem to want to get married, says she doesn’t like drama, agreeable, on more than one occasion has mentioned the bitchiness of other women, focuses on health/fitness/nutrition, into martial arts. Actually seems pretty cool and somewhat MGTOW-like. She might actually make a good friend if she were male. That’s where the cognitive dissonance comes in.

I know damn well that a relationship isn’t going to work with her baggage. I should have taken that into consideration before spending the time chatting back and forth but I let my guard down. Any point in becoming friends or should I just cease contact?

BTW I need to stop wasting time on these stupid sites. I’ll quit for awhile and then sign back up again. I thought I was done for good last time and then signed back up again a couple weeks ago. Ugh.

Two failed marriages plus two kids (assuming younger kids based on her age being 41)= too much trouble. I don’t know that she had reason to lie about her martial arts experience as she did post some pics. I can see her rubbing it it when dating a guy and trying to make him feel insecure (i.e. I have a black belt and you don’t).

As for some of the other stuff, yeah, I agree, a manipulation tactic. She seemed to kept emphasizing in different ways that she’s different. She didn’t have female friends in high school because “women are were too bitchy”. Said that she was an only child and likes that there was no drama. She didn’t have much to say about the first marriage. The second one seemed to have some drama. I’m guessing the first guy was too boring so she hitched up with an “exciting” bad boy type and that didn’t work out. He probably cheated on her or something. I could be wrong but guessing that maybe that’s what happened.

She has her kids every other week. Seems to have a decent job….does radiology stuff. I don’t know what that pays. Maybe she lives in a big house that she manipulated her ex into buying and has some big payments.
