Anonymous43i withdrew from school last Friday. I wasn’t going to pass my math class.
ill work on something else.
Sorry to hear that, brother. Do you have a plan now or still getting your bearings?
Jackie: How do you write women so well?
Melvin Udall: I think of a man and I take away reason and accountability.Relax–you’ve been through a hell of a lot worse and you are still standing. ITs no big deal man!

Anonymous42At least you learned something and didn’t stand neutral, shift gears and try something else, or focus on math and attack it again, another day.
Cutting your losses early smart.
A MGTOW is a man who is not a woman's bitch!

Was it the Math or the lack of use of Math or familiarity?
Either way, don’t sweat the small stuff, just time for plan B

Maybe we need to start a new School Forum. You could throw your questions out to the group and guys could help each other. I’m pretty good at some math and I’d be happy to help guys out. With this many guys to help I’m sure you could get someone that knew the lesson. Kind of a pay it forward thing.

Depending on the type/level of it you may find help available here.
I was through the math grinder myself. Don’t use some of the higher math that regularly but may be able to explain it.
Hope that someday I may lead others the path I have learned. As Virgil led Dante through Hell.

Anonymous43I ran out of talent, fell behind and the late penalties on homework knocked me out. Better to withdraw then ride the thing into the ground. Being in pain and having trouble walking didn’t help, this campus is uphill in every direction. Looking for work now.
The good news, I am safe, sort of healthy and in the suburbs of a major city. I’m not in a tent in a cow town down the street from Boot Hill.
I’ll be alright brothers.
I ran out of talent
No. You ran out of motivation. /I know you have talent in SPADES/ I do agree that cutting your loss is a good idea and I would try to get a refund for the class if you can.

Sounds like they did not give you reasonable accommodation.
Keep you head up and plan ahead.
Good luck Sir.
I’m with market. If you gave up that easy, you didn’t want it bad enough. Try again.

Knowing that IT is a high paying market, it an IT job really your passion? Since you are retooling your life by picking up a new skill set, seems reasonable to ensure that you like the job that you will be working at for the foreseeable future.
And no, being a cook at Waffle House does not count. As much as PistolPete might want to serve him a bowl of Grits, you would look silly in their paper chef hat.

Don’t sweat it May 7, you are a good man and the right thing will come to you when you least expect it.
Get a vasectomy.
Shake it off. I would consider studying the math (algebra, calculus?) on your own for a few months and trying to re-take the class, after already having mastered the materials.
Have you tried using Khan Academy to learn math? If it’s been years since you’ve done it, using it for remedial may also make sense.
I have studied mathematics up to partial differential equations, then took more theoretical math as electives in college (okay, I’m a sick individual; I loved it!). But even in an Engineering career spanning a quarter century, I can count on one hand the times I’ve had to use math beyond the high school algebra I learned when I was 15 years old. Much complicated analysis, is achieved using software nowadays; Mathematica, discipline-specific software, etc.
Calculus is used to weed people out of college. Mathematics training does promote logical thinking and problem solving, but how many people actually USE it in their day-to-day employment? I’d say very few!
Also, consider obtaining certifications in valuable real-world skills in IT rather than a degree.
You’re a great guy May. I understand how hard it must be to even f~~~ing concentrate on studying while having no access/contact with your kids, and what that must be like. I’d never manage that. Keep your head up man. I’ve lost motivation too. Everything seems f~~~ing pointless and futile. Gotta keep hacking through the jungle.

You start changing your circumstances, your state of mind is going to improve dramatically. Nevermind the stocking bulls~~~ jobs. Get into a trade school. Learn a trade. Get some better money for yourself. When you’re making good money, and out on your own, your self confidence is going to come back man. You know it, I know it. But as long as you keep taking the path of least resistance, you circumstance will never change.
