I found my step daughter after 3 years, I’m glad to know she is doing well. That’s all I need to know. I don’t need to hear of her again.

Let your kids go. If they come back you can have the joy without the pain. It’s hard to let go. It’s also the best thing you can do for yourself.

Logged in just to reply to this one. Trying to help a brother out.

This might work for you as a bit of therapy. Buy a nice bound notebook at the local bookstore….they sell nice ones to use as journals. Every time you feel lonely or upset about the kids get out the book and make an entry. Write down exactly what you wanted to talk to them about that day or whatever was on your mind. Talk about how you saw her in a video and it made you happy to see her doing so well but sad that you weren’t there with her. Keep writing…..doesn’t have to be long entries but just write to help ease the pain. Can be about anything….tell her about yourself etc.

Someday when the kids are grown up and the ex can’t interfere legally anymore wait until the right time and send the kids your journal. If they are decent kids they will read it and understand some of the pain you went through all these years. They will reach out to you and you can begin to reestablish yourself in their life again and put this misery behind you bud.

I recommend this to all of your hurting that can’t see your children. There IS hope!
