Then turned on the water and found some more broken pipes!

I’ve been too busy to get to it, then when I do I have time, I have to throw the whole f~~~ing toolbox at it with all the tricks in the book!

Of course I have to move another ton of s~~~ to get at the new leaks! Not to mention crawling in some tight spaces!

Next time I won’t turn the water back on! That’ll fix it!

Mine are all working properly, I was running tests on them last night, maybe it was the night before, can’t remember now, I will get back to you later after I run some more tests tonight.

Mine are all working properly, I checked em all out thoroughly last night.

That’s a good great idea! If I’m gonna choke on solder smoke I may as well choke on something enjoyable to go with it!

just don’t get the neighbor below you (or the building structure) wet, if you live in big house. that will be a lot more costly than new pipes.

by the way I always unplug electrical stuff, close main gas and main water tap when I leave home for more than an hour. Just being paranoid but in this case no s~~~ can happen.

You didn’t really pause to take that picture instead of shutting off the water, did you?

I know you can’t see me, but do I look that stupid? That’s just a stock photo from Duckduckgo.

But really, it was spraying allover the place until I could get back to the house and turn the shutoff to the garage!

When it thawed out overnight after I turned the heat back on (unaware of the broken pipes) I had thick ice allover the outer wall and door from the flooding flash freezing in the arctic winds! I knew what it was when I saw the ice waterfall allover the wall and down to the ground! Lucky the concrete floor was pitched to drain out the doors! If it were a basement there would have been plenty of time to fill it up like a swimming pool!

Man that sucks. A few years ago, a water pipe froze and broke in my basement while I was on vacation, thousands of miles away. I know how you feel.

Now, I drain all the water pipes when I leave for extended periods of time, even in the summer.

In our place in Vermont I drained all the pipes and then blew them out with compressed air to remove every drop of water (in case the heat goes out over this winter).

Here I turned my back for a day during the arctic blizzard and presto, FROZEN PIPES! I should create a temperature activated FREEZE ALARM!

Most home security systems include temperature sensors that you can put under the house that will send a text message to your phone if the temperature drops below 40 degrees. As a landlord, this is an absolute MUST for me to be able to keep an eye on my properties. Great technology exists these days. USE IT!
