I am more slightly more qualified but our CVs are pretty similar. I have spoken to job agencies and so has she and it just happened that different agencies came to us both with the same job opening….
This morning she is at an interview with this place and I haven’t heard back. I have asked agencies to send my CV off to various places and have had no interviews whereas she has had loads
I don’t want to get a chip on my shoulder but is it a case of them only picking out women to interview? This girl has opening stated to me she wants to get pregnant so as soon as she is entitled to maternity benefits she will be getting up the duff and having loads of time off. Me on the other hand am single so obviously won’t do any of that s~~~…employers hiring wimminz to their own detriment it seems. That “positive” discrimination in action

Found out today one of my female colleagues is leaving in 3 weeks to a brand new job and it sounds amazing.

The job market is a joke.
1) Do not use recruitment agents.
2) Rewrite your cv for each application.
3) Never include anything above or better than what they are looking for
4) Focus on achievements not just experience
5) expect most ad not to state a salary
6) expect a long list of requirements and a salary that is pathetic
7) The first read of your cv may well be by a computer or young hr assistant that has no clue about the job and she decides who gets an interview.CV Layout:
On one line your name, address and mobile number and email (you don’t need to write cv.
4 line profile MAKE IT ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THEM ANd 100% RELEVANT
9 bullet points of key skills set out in a 3 column layout
Then -career summary –ACHIEVEMENTS NOT JUST EXPERIENCE
then it skills
the put on your degree
interest are irrelevant leave them off
write your cv in bullet points no prose.
put on your degree if you have one but not a levels and o levels
2 pages maximum
Write in the third person ie.

HR is c~~~ central, and c~~~s always favour other c~~~s.

The fact is, if you’re white or male or both you are the lowest priority for getting a job these days. Diversification is nothing but legalized discrimination against white males. And if you happen to be mid-life you’re also being age discriminated against.

Yes, I believe that’s exactly what is happening to you.
I’m sometimes on the hiring side, and when there is an opening I wanted to fill, I would get not so subtle reminders to be “mindful of our diversity goals” as an organization.
How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.
