What bothers me about modern liberals is they are the most greedy, selfish idiots around who completely lack and foresight. I’m a millennial, and I can tell you guys a major voting point for a lot of the liberal idiots I know essentially boils down to “which candidate will get me out of my student loans as much as possible.”
Now in my mind, when I paid for college it was something I wanted to get done with as fast as possible, and if college is too expensive we should be looking at why its gotten so expensive, not just stupidly throwing more money at it.
In the liberal mind, the government will make their debts disappear and make college “free.” They don’t realize that instead of being able to buckle down and pay it off in a few years and move on with their lives, they will instead have to pay for it the rest of their lives as there will be a never ending supply of people wanting to attend “free” college.
Its the same with older liberals as well. Just another example…I used to chat on an early retirement forum, and most of the people on there were big supporters of Obamacare. It totally confused me, because I thought the typical person shooting for financial independence and early retirement would be all about low taxes, small government, and personal responsibility. No, wrong. They realized if you converted all your retirement accounts to ROTH accounts, none of that money counts as income, so essentially they realized they could have millions in a ROTH IRA, pull out 100k a year or whatever and at the end of the year show 0 income and qualify for free medicaid so they didn’t have to pay for healthcare. Meanwhile some broke ass with 0 assets trying to get started in life has to pay taxes out the ass so these greedy assholes could game the system.
I have met a few liberals over the years who struck me as sincere, altruistic people who were well off in life and just wanted other people to have it better as well, but those are far and few between. If you look into what the typical liberal supports, you will almost always find its because they think it will directly benefit them. In their f~~~ed up head paying off their student loans for them will benefit the economy because they will have more money to spend. Well here’s a novel thought asshole, rather than robbing me to pay your student loans, how about I just go buy myself a sports car, that will benefit the economy as well, and we both got to keep what our decisions in life have earned for us.
Again, it just demonstrates a complete lack of foresight. In a world where we reward the lazy, the irresponsible, and those who make poor decisions, we are basically telling the workers, the builders, and those who save for a rainy day to go f~~~ themselves. Eventually we will end up with more lazy, irresponsible, poor decision makers than reasonable hardworking people who try to do things the right way…and then what?
