Please do your best in preparing for the storm’s arrival. Not sure how good the official government response is going to be, especially since resources are stretched in providing aid for Harvey. If at all possible, limit your need to rely on daddy govt.

Its probably too late for this, but if you don’t already, it’s a good idea to own a firearm and practice at the range every once in a while for self protection purposes.

Irma according to recent reports is expected to drop to category 3 as it hits the majority of Florida Monday morning. Barbuda, and Anguilla have already seen the eye of the storm.

I’m very worried about my elderly mother in Fort Lauderdale. I’ve tried to get her to fly here.,( Ohio ) my dumbass hardheaded step father won’t leave. I have a brother and sister there. I’m calling this morning again to try to get her to leave.

Be safe guys. Don’t take any unnecessary risks.

… and end up having unnecessary kids!

I just purchased the last jug of chain saw bar oil at my Home Depot. I’ve also gotten my little generator running perfectly.

Like I said yesterday, New Orleans to New York needs to pay attention to this beast. The models are all over the place just like a woman.

You might have to get out of Dodge, there Cpig. Looks like it’s going to curve and come up the east coast which is gonna mean you’re fked. I’d consider getting tied up with Joetech or something.

Hey C-Pig, hurricane winds are directional and never variable, you can use this to your advantage falling trees where you want them to land. I do it all the time to avoid striking the power lines! I’ve got one more large white pine I’ve been waiting for the right wind direction opportunity while the power is out, I’ve made the power lines dance around here sweeping them with the branches! Like strumming a big guitar! The Adventures of B.C.F.C.!

Yep. I hope I’ll have a home when I get back here. I’ll leave if it runs 200 miles offshore too.

SW Florida here. (Fort Myers/Naples) I’m keeping my eye on the forecast, if I don’t like the looks of it Thursday, Im packing the bike and riding for daylight. Should be safe in TN or KY.

I would not plan on staying. Myers is in a flood zone.

I just looked at the evac routes for tampa, and I’m in an area second on the chart in terms of flooding projection. So I’m gonna jump over a couple of towns and try to chill with friends most likely.

Irma has dropped to a category 4. Projected to drop to category 2 after finishing with Miami. Latest projection has it going to the left more once it hits Florida, moving slightly away from North and South Carolina and more towards Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi as it travels through our state. Unfortunately, instead of the eye being slightly off the east coast, it looks like the eye will come directly up the middle of Florida.

While the downgraded category is good news, the “eye up the middle of Florida” is bad news indeed.

As some of you probably know, the current projected trajectory is the eye curving off the coast of Cuba, and coming up the western side of Florida with the eye alongside the west coast. The eye of the storm is expected to near the panhandle by Monday. I’m hoping this storm continues west instead and goes out to the gulf, but please people if you’re in the coastal area, get inland. I’m evacuating my home tonight.

You can watch the storm live here.

If you live in Florida please take a moment when you can to update everyone on your situation so everyone else isn’t worried sick.

Speaking of which, figured I’d take the time to post I’m with my dad further inland. About 40-50 min away from Orlando. Not out of the pathway but away from the flooding, and hopefully the tornadoes. Gonna be watching the next few days. Hope I have a place to go back to.
