This arrest was timed to be a cheap political stunt against President Trump in ruining his chances of a economic agreement with Chinese President Xi.

Well, the members of China’s government are not fools. They are very intelligent. They likely realize whom are behind this and whom support those behind the arrest.

As far as the Chinese government is concerned this arrest is an insult towards them, that due to this insult they have “lost face” on the international stage. They are likely going to make those involved pay, from Canada, to the U.S., and the U.S. companies that aid in such political stunts done to embarrass both President Trump and China.

So far China’s response has been economic. Let us hope the situation does not escalate further due the shortsighted foolishness of a few individuals.
