This is true in many jurisdictions. Lawyers and judges are in on it, because they reap financial benefit for it — all perfectly legal of course!

Divorce is an industry, and that is a well documented fact.

Edit: That is my opinion, and I am entitled to it under the First Amendment to the Constitution. Or, I’m supposed to be. It is what they taught us in high school civics class.

Real life is another matter: Disagreeing with lawyers and judges is fraught with peril these days, and our rights be damned.

How can a man get married these days ? I still don’t know a guy who married a girl where the girl earns more or is worth more, sure it happens but I guess in the 40 or 50 couples I know it never happened ,, why is that ?

Can’t be luck or chance ??

They are selfish , greedy simple as that…

I know 1. Of all the married couples I know, including the ones that have already divorced…literally 1 where they went into it with her making significantly more money. Her entire family hates the guy, and literally every single woman I know that also knows the guy hates and badmouths him lol. Its hilarious. Did I mention he’s a stay at home dad now? Apparently a stay at home mom makes great sacrifice for her family, and is the toughest job in the world, but a stay at home dad is just a s~~~ bag leech. Admittedly the guy is a worthless little t~~~, but not more so than your average stay at home mom.

I know a few others where the wife makes more now because the husband put her through college, or because the husband is a few years older and retired and she’s got a few left to go, and these people seem alright with it as it was planned and they aren’t really hurting for money. Strangely…I also known some over the years where the husband made more going in but the wife surpassed him down the road due to an unplanned promotion or job offer and it didn’t change the relationship much, but in cases where the wife started earning more because the husband’s income became unexpectedly lower it was a big deal. They hate the resources they think you owe them being cut…and it didn’t even matter with the guys who lost a job due to no fault of their own and found something a short time later…if it was lower paying it was a problem even though they weren’t sitting on their asses leeching off her.
