An RP British accent (which I have) is an instant knicker-dropper in many parts of the US. A theory which I tested on several occasions in my youth.

    Great share Jan.

There’s another vid on tame swearing:

A posh bird trying to swear is quite stimulating.

I just went to a bar last night and wanted to play with the bartender. Turned on me accent…

An adorable midwestern cutie heard me and wanted to chat me up.. Now.. I’m not saying what happened next.. But by the end of it all, talking like a brit gave me a real headache……..

In England they say “grass you up” when they talk about somebody “ratting” out somebody else. I could never figure the origin of that phrase…

(Does it imply that someone is lower than the “grass” that everybody walks on?)

The derivation isn’t clear but the most popular is that it is from rhyming slang for grasshopper as in someone who informs on people to the coppers (slang for police).

The noun a “grass” (for informer) is the start of it, and the verb usage comes from that i.e “to grass” etc.

Its crazy how many different accents they have in one small island. They have more different accents than we do in the whole USA.
