One thing I’ve noticed in life a lot of people don’t seem to get is quite often when people try to act like they have money, they don’t. People that actually have money have nothing to prove.

Obviously I’m painting with a broad brush here, but just saying, when I look around at people I know who drive a really expensive car, most of them aren’t making 200k+ a year or older people who bought a once in a lifetime car after saving and investing for decades…most are just people who make awful financial decisions who are swimming in debt. I knew a guy who got his condo foreclosed on because he thought paying for his 6 series BMW was higher priority, where as I know another guy who retired at 59 with over a million in the bank, a paid off house, and a pension…and for the 10 years I knew him prior to that, he drove the same beat up pickup truck. People see the guy with the 6 series BMW and trendy clothes on and think $$$$…people see the guy with the beat up truck and farmer clothes on and $$$$ is the last thing they think. The story their net worth tells is quite the opposite.

Sure…some people just legit make a ton of money and want to buy nice things…I get that…I’m just saying I know a lot of people who want to buy things like they make a top 10% income, who clearly don’t make a top 10% income, and who make a top 10% income and want to live like they’re top 1%.

There is already a computer on board that can Bring the Cat back to life and keep it new if it wants. And the amount that it is out of spec is in the Small percentage points. Yea, rich folks don’t really need to show off. Why bother? I think he got his last straw when he stayed at a Hotel and got some Critters that stuck along for the ride. After that, the idea of sleeping in a bed that was not his just never made much sense to him.

I got another family member in Eugene that owns a Classic Car shop. He looks poor. But then you open up the garage. Citroens, and so many classic cars all in the shop on the lifts up in the air, so not a soul can touch them. Does he Live in a home? Hell no! Why do that when you got a Nice place upstairs? That way you don’t have to pay for security.

Like it or not, you get use to things you use to do. I love my Minivan. I just got done working on the thing. Made a custom drive belt system, and had a great time doing. I love working on this thing. And I love working on my machinery.

But I love a good deal. But still, I’m about the only person who puts on his $300 Rockports and starts using a leaf blower. Dresses up just to go on a drive. Yup, EVEN got the leather gloves. And I ONLY wear the ones they sell at Golf Courses. No other leather gloves will do. They make those Perfect to the contours of your hands.

People look at you funny cuz your odd. Maybe you drive an old truck. Or in my old bosses case? And OLD 1980’s Toyota Tercel Waggon that is Brown. The ONLY reason he got rid of it was that he needed a truck to load all the extra things and make it easy to load it up. ANd he even got his truck at a FLEET coast with Stock Orange Peel paint. He wore the SAME pants he bought Years ago.

A fews years ago, (Since his gone, now, I can tell this) A cop pulled him over. Well, turns out he was renting one of his properties. Gave him some bulls~~~ ticket. And then treated him with an arrest and tried to tow his car from one of his own properties.

Well. 2 weeks later, an eviction notice. den’t on this guys recorded to the point that I don’t think he could ever get back into an apartment again. Matter of fact, I don’t think he ever let up on the City on what they tried to do to his Zoning permits.

In fact, he got a Judge fired for taking money on the side from other contractors.

It’s one thing to say you have money. But it’s another if you got enough cash to by up entire city blocks just to develop properties around you. The man took a s~~~ty run down side of PDX, and made it to one of the most affluent neighborhoods in the area.

And I think he still wore the SAME shoes he wore 25 years ago.

What you make out of this life is what you put into it. Showing off is a lot more fun when you got all that money, and you can sit around knowing you can do anything with it. But don’t.

Money and power and wealth is only as good as the life you have. It’s not money. It’s control over your own life.
