As a 47 yo living in gynocentric Australia. I remember that song well, and listening to it now, I wish I could go back and tell my younger self red pill truth.
I’m trying to overcome the grief of all that lost time I spent in a blue pill haze, and simultaneously set myself right so I live well right now.

When the war cemeteries are half full of the corpses of dead conscripted women, only then will women have earned the right to speak of equality. Sidecar “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” - Bob Dylan

It’s the sad songs that really dig down. The top means nothing until you’ve been to the bottom. This song illustrates struggle. Women will ALWAYS let you down, so it’s good to have perspective and a couple songs like this in your pocket for a rainy day. Life in general will challenge you endlessly and let you down. No matter how much good you intend…. things will go sideways. No man is ever really successful until he’s experienced pain, suffering, and loss.

We all need to draw a line and let go of the past.

in asian philosophy it has been said, essentially, that it is better to consider matters of the moment, and of the future as they might be, than to consider the past; as it is more likely than not, by thinking of, focusing on, recalling the past, it is gone and is more likely to bring you pain and discomfort than anything else. just saying

your dna dictates your need to approach women.... their dna dictates what they do when you arrive

    You are correct.

But sometimes? It’s all that’s there to keep you alive.

I’m not going to forget all the good times. Nor the bad times. That is what MEN have been doing forever to cope. But it’s what you do that makes the future.

I hate that our past is now being forgotten. This is what women do by default. Forget all they do not want to remember. It is why they are the way they are. They can not remember what they do not wish to. Its a self protection method of evolution. Men are indeed burdened with past in many ways. It’s a cruel joke.

Like it or not, we are still going to look back there. If we did not, we would not be going our own way. We would not see value in our lives. We would stop to exist in a way.

Sure, we are all meaningless in a way. But the past is nothing to run away from. You face it head on. Or let it doom you in the end.
