My son came home from college this weekend. He was with a dude that he knew from high school and other social gatherings. The three of us went out to dinner Friday night. They both put their phones away after we sat down. His friend asked me during the conversation why I didn’t care what people said when he and my son were growing up. My son cut into the conversation and immediately told him the following- “He doesn’t care because he knows how stupid people are. He accepted it a long time ago. Whatever people choose to say he has already heard it. It’s all reruns. Nobody seems to come up with any new material”. His friend had this blank stare on his face and was at a total loss for words.
His friend is a good kid but you could tell he had no answers . The conversation changed to sports and school. I feel it went quite well and enjoyed myself. On the drive home it was quiet being that they were both on their phones. The very last thing his friend asked me before I dropped him off at his parent’s house was “You really don’t care do you? Me- “NOPE”.
One thing I did learn was that my son is a faster learner than I thought. I can live with that.

It does get easier to not care and just ignore people and not just because there’s nothing new out there. People are just so damn stupid. I can’t stand talking to most of them anymore. I get tired of listening to the stupidity. I know I can be hard to get along with and people are probably sick of hearing the stupid s~~~ I say as well. All the more reason to stay away from people.

I don’t care either. I don’t care what people say and I don’t care if I offend anyone anymore. Everyone is so damn rude and obnoxious and idiotic. It’s better to just ignore them, say nothing and walk away.

Here’s the secret about not giving a f~~~ that nobody seems to understand: The world doesn’t revolve around you. People that really give a f~~~ think that other people are thinking about them when they aren’t around. Generally they aren’t. They’ve got other s~~~ on their mind. That guy that gives a f~~~ is worrying about whether he said the right thing to some random girl, and at that exact same moment she’s wondering what to make for dinner.

There’s a lot less stress that comes with not caring, and 99.9% of the time you’re right. And the other .1% you’re turning on some girl that likes your attitude.

I too am just TIRED of “people”. I have a supervisor at work that after screwing me over lately tried to play dumb with me, but I knew he wasn’t playing. My last word to him was OK, and off I walked.

I am extremely tired of people. About the only time people are nice or civil is when they work for you/yu are paying them for something. Othereise its not great. No one can live by the Golden Rule anymore because so many people are allowed to grow up so narcisistically self centered, they lack empathy and the ability to think before acting, “would i want to be treated this way if someone did this to me?”

Yep. I call it,”Playing the same old song” but reruns is just as good and hits the point just as well. I usually have on headphones anyway so I miss most of the stupid. Once in a while it gets in, but I don’t respond. I’ve heard it all before and most likely will hear it again. Stupid people rarely come up with anything new.
