This goes into a bit of the end of of Spectre. What I saw was, early on, Bond ends up leaving a woman behind, to do his mission. This seems MGTOW to me. He said he would return to her, but never did, as far as I can tell (this is in the opening).

Now this is the not being MGTOW. Bond, in the end of Spectre, gets the girl. It is this entire concept of “getting the girl” as some sort of victory, that is not MGTOW to me. It is a movie trope of some sort of proof of a man being a hero. In the movie also, Bond is said to have a lot of pain for not getting the women. This is not MGTOW in my book. I take MGTOW as moving on. The idea is to NOT get a woman, and be able to have a life, not get the woman, as some sort of goal, or desirable.

    Anyone want comment?

Daniel Craig’s character is more PUA than MGTOW. He tries too hard with that pouty face to seduce women.

JB has had it. Mark my words …

10-15 years it will be Jane Bond getting her several men and flying home to her lezo lover.

It’s done. Mr Flemming has stopped spinning.

So, would you say then, he ends being PUA with Spectre, if you saw it? I always thought Bond, while MGTOW, also had a PUA streak in him.

Atleast we’ll still have the old James Bond.

I haven’t seen it and am not planning to see it. Last Bond movie I liked was Casino Royale.

I saw ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’ the other day and preferred it over the last 2 Bond movies.

P~~~ on Hollywood, they’ve jumped the shark, originality has left the building. Low quality product for brain dead addicts.

Prediction: Jane Bond, double 0 tampon, within the next 5 years.

Old movies like the classic James Bond ones are the basis of MGTOW. That’s why I love them.

James Bond was never really a MGTOW. It is true that he never settled down or committed. But he always had to “be the hero” by saving and protecting the girl in a lot of the films. Not quite a total white knight, but somewhat of one.

Exactly! Bond was always more PUA than MGHOW. Constantly chasing it. And catching, but hey it’s fiction. He even got married in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Didn’t she get killed in the end? He gets married and she dies? I figured I would post this, asking those who knew of the Bond history more than me, what the state of Bond was. I consider a MGTOW concept to NOT get the girl, so I figured I would ask.

    Yes. (It was Diana Rigg.)

I think a MGTOW concept would be not to try to get the girl, at least not permanently. Chasing the girl, getting the girl, marrying the girl, and having the girl taken is more of a Hollywood romance mangina concept, IMO.

Also, Bond is far from immune to manipulation. The Craig-Bond Casino Royale is a case in point.

Well, that came to mind also when seeing Spectre. I realize how much Hollywood sets up getting the girl as a worn trope to be able to show a man as a “real man”. It is like some sort of prize to get. It is very likely a hook put in, to get women interested in going to an action film.

Yes! 007 seems to be popular among both sexes. ‘Women want him and men want to be him.’ There’s a Hollywood gynocentric trope for ya! Men want to be him, because women want him. Don’t be that guy.

I haven’t seen Spectre yet, and probably won’t until it comes out streaming on Netflix. Can’t say I’m a big fan of Mr Craig as Bond.
