Has anyone had a wife/gf that could cook?

My issues wife/gf cooking rarely has anything to do with her ability to cook. It’s all the crap you have to put up with related to cooking it the problem.

1 – I’ve noticed that they don’t really cook to please you. I’ve had women cook meals for me with onions in it, knowing full well that I don’t care for onions. My ex-wife used to bake chicken all the time, even though I told her that I preferred it in a frying pan. Happens all the time. When other people are over for dinner, she puts so much more effort into cooking than she ever did when it was just you.

2 – Despite the fact that they aren’t cooking for you, it’s your job to appreciate what she’s cooking. If you are honest and tell her when it’s not so good, then you’re an asshole. This doesn’t happen when men cook. If it’s bad, he’s usually the first to admit it. He doesn’t get offended if you don’t like it, because he understands that it’s not personal.

3 – She resents that she ‘has to’ cook for you. You never asked for it, but she feels it’s her duty as a woman because other women cook, and that’s your fault. On top of that, she hates that you’re a man who can eat a decent meal without getting fat. She has to make a meal for you, while she eats her salad.

4 – She gets upset at you if you cook. She doesn’t mind of you make a romantic dinner that’s all about her, or your a professional chef that brings in resources, but other than that, you’re cooking is an affront to her as a woman. Why, because a man that cooks his own means doesn’t need her for cooking…and she can’t have that. Women are better at cooking (in their minds), and they don’t like you disproving that. Really, it’s not that different than women’s opinion on strippers/prostitutes/porn. They don’t like it because it breaks the illusion that men can’t survive without them.

5 – She doesn’t really want you to see her eat. She wants to blame her being overweight on being a woman, genetics, etc. However, if she has to eat in front of you, then you can see the truth. She thinks you can’t see her snacking all day long. She thinks you don’t know.

I noticed something last summer when I had people over a few times for backyard bbq. The women always brought food, usually junk…and only the women would eat the junk. When it came time for the meal, they’d eat that too. They would graze for hours while the men would just drink their lite beer and one burger, and avoid the crap as much as possible.

Basically, avoid mixing women and food as much as possible.

Ok. Then do it.
