Have a long-time friend, many years older than me. We used to wrench on motorcycles together until his (real) job transferred to AZ. We’ve only seen each other a few times in the last 10 years, but have stayed in touch regularly. He’s talented, honest, hard working, but blue pill….not ‘whipped’, but very traditional. His pumpkin used to brag that she didn’t know how to use a gas pump. For her years, she kept herself attractive, but has always been a stay-at-home, so she had the time. Her idea of a home cooked meal was ordering a spiral sliced ham…lol… Before the current cell phone rage, she would spend several hours of each day on the phone with her 2 daughters and/or her 5 sisters. Yes, 5 sisters !
Anyway, my friend retired at age 70 (mandatory), and his wife immediately told him that he should get a job (at a sporting goods store, or something similar), because she didn’t want him ‘underfoot’.
He got a part-time job, but she wasn’t satisfied with that. She dropped divorce papers on him, and she wants the house, her car and half of his pension and cash-on-hand. She and her lawyer went to the bank before he was served papers and withdrew $10K for the fee retainer.

    To be fair.

Sounds the usual nightmare. Now he has retired he is more trouble than he is worth, so it is time to harvest him.

If only the older man could go back in time and warn the younger one… You can’t do that but listening to MGTOW is the next best thing. Pay attention young men.

Yup, it’s pretty brutal for her. You see she’s been retired for her entire life. She’s a goddamn pro at it. She doesn’t need to be training some rookie. Plus he will then see just how easy she’s had it for her entire f~~~ing life and may actually expect something from her in return.

You never pay the hooker before the sex. And you don’t pay her for sex, you pay her to leave.

I feel for your friend. She’s been taking advantage of him the entire marriage, and all he’s really looked forward to all of those years is a chance to hang out with the woman he’s loved his whole life. And then to find out that she never really loved him. That’s a hard kick to the nads.

That was his early warning, right there.

Sounds like my parents. My dad put his paperwork in for retirement at work at 65 and that same week my mom filed for divorce. He supported her through almost 40 years of marriage. The brief period she worked after my brother and I were adults, all her paychecks went to “her” account that she largely wasted gambling. I can’t imagine the feeling of betrayal after supporting a parasite for so many years and your thanks is they turn around and rob you for half your s~~~ on the way out the door.

The thing is, these aren’t isolated events, situations like these are pretty common these days. If you want a secure retirement, marriage needs to be taken out of the equation. I know people petrified of the stock market because it might crash 20 or 30%…and then what? Well you ride it out for a year or two and its back. These same people may just be dumb enough to be/get married, even though they could lose 50%+ in divorce…then what? Its not going to magically re-appear in the next bull market.

What a gold-digging bitch. I feel sorry for the guy, but this type of scenario is all to common. I see this all the time. The wife doesn’t want the husband around. He gets in the way. She doesn’t love him (and never did).
    She simply loves his wallet.

This 70 year old guy will turn out ok. He should throw a party and celebrate the departure of this witch

The wife doesn’t want the husband around.

30 year old women: “But you’ll die alone!”

    60+ year old women: “DIVORCE!”

Wait…what happened to that whole fear of being alone? You’d think the older they got the happier they’d be to have someone around, but its turning out to be just the opposite with all the gray divorce going on with boomers. From a purely statistical stand point the older you get the more women there are for every man because men tend to die younger, plus I’m sure a lot of guys who got freshly wrecked by divorce at 60+ aren’t too keen about getting married again. It just goes to show a woman’s ability to plan long term or think logically.

    Like a plague of locusts.

She and her lawyer went to the bank before he was served papers and withdrew $10K for the fee retainer

How can these lawyers and their female clients even look themselves in the mirror?

My lawyer and ex did the same. Waited till my re-enlistment bonus (6 more years) and paycheck hit bank account. Then took every penny. Over $12.000 total.

Next morning at my rental I was served divorce papers and order of protection/restraining order. Even tho past 3 months we were amicably separated working out terms of divorce — I would go by house to do the yard work, honey-do’s, and see the kids.

Basically another variation of “the one call.”

Every other day, I hear tucker carlson talk about the birth rates. How we have less kids and more ageing adults. And then I hear some YOUNG guy Blabber on about its the left. SUre. Sure. But what about the REAL PROBLEM? They just dance around that.

For ONCE, I want to see the 60 or 70 year old man on there give the honest advice. Not just some 5 min snapshot, but a real world view of why younger men have no reason to get married or children.

Its simply is such a dire thing to say, that there will never be any change for years to come. And to be honest, I am fine with that.

They too the Happily ever after story and ran it to the ground and sanded it to dust. And each and every day, they do the same thing all day long.

I have YET to see a TEEN pose a question without reading it from her phone. Or actually having anything real to say.

I saw a kid say she was terrified with anguish over climate change. And this is suppose to be on the level of WWII or vietnam or the Cold War? Iraq or 9-11?

There are days when I wonder if its just the new hip thing. Since music sucks so bad today, I wonder if this is all they have left to act out. And I mean that. There is no big bands anymore. No more real counter culture for the masses. There is nothing but what has been given to them. Really, they, have ran out of things to care about.

I don’t think others see the world that I did. What I thought was waiting for all of us. I had visions, hopes and dreams of simply raising a family. Seeing my kids go off to college, and just living in my own home with the woman I loved. All of her flaws and mine.

DIsneyland. Disney World. So many wonderful places. And TImes. They are all gone.

I have to say, I’m glad that other men will be spared the disappointment of our ruined dreams.

And then it all seems so stupid. The whole deal was nothing but sacrifice. There really was not much in it for a man. But for some strange and odd reason, I still look back on the life of servitude, and think how wonderful it could of been.

I’m glad I woke up from the lie.
