A poll of 2000 people from ontario/quebec does not constitute half of anything but 2000 easterners.
Just because policies and MSM propaganda are espoused from southern ontario and southern quebec (Ottawa Valley/Gatenau regions) as “Canadian” does not make it so. It is just those who think they are the ruling elite out east, flapping their c~~~~~~~~~s attempting to speak for the remainder of Canada.
Everyone I talk to, has strong opinions about proper vetting and keeping the trash out.
This s~~~ is like New York city, California, and Washington DC trying to rule the remainder of the USA, and declaring what these 3 areas want is what ALL of the USA wants.
My American cousins have vocalized their displeasure, discontent, and denial that those 3 cesspools speak for all Americans, surely they can also understand that Ottawa, Toronto (spit), Montreal, and Hongcouver… err I mean Vancouver speak for ALL Canadians.

Legal immigration, assimilation into your new country, and following the rules is one thing. Disregarding the laws, disrespecting your host nation, and freeloading are quite another.
