And by that I mean political lefties.

So now that all these progressive liberal hypocrites realize what the 2nd Amendment defenders have known all along… that you could literally wake up one morning and find that the entire US government is suddenly controlled by forces that you believe to be detremental to your very physical existence… and have started looking into purchasing firearms for themselves, should we be expecting a massive uptick in the number of instances of domestic shootings?

I’d like to make a few points abundantly clear:

1) Guns do not “go off” on their own. A person must unholster and load a weapon, rack, charge or otherwise place a live round into the firing chamber, remove or disable any safety devices and mechanisms, introduce some object (most likely a finger) into the trigger guard and cause pressure to be applied to the trigger to cause the weapon to discharge.

2) There is no such thing as an “accidental” shooting. There are only deliberate shootings and neglegent shootings.

3) Anyone who lives in California and is or wants to be qualified to responsibly own, carry and use a firearm should leave the state immediately.

4) Anyone who claims to be “against guns” and who then calls for the disarming of the American citizenry is not really against guns. The only way to take the guns away from the citizenry is for the police and/or military to do it by force… using guns. So in fact, they are not against guns… they are very much FOR guns… just not for citizens. They actually love guns but only so long as they are in the hands of politicians, the people who determine when, where and how force is to be applied and, ultimately, give the commands to do so… the least trustworthy people in the entire country.

5) If you have guns and you have a liberal friend who is suddenly interested in guns… do us a favor and don’t teach them how to shoot.

Well from a British perspective I find it difficult to empathise. I fully belirve people who say your government are against guns for the wrong reasons are probably right.

However I live in an area where people have beens hot on their doorstep, where grenadaes have been thrown through peoples window. An area where threat to life notices are common place. I don’t have a waeapon and don’t have any problems.

You know most major British cities have issue with gun crime but it’s by and large mostly caused by gangs and criminals.Yes we have had mass shootings such as Dunblaine.

However whilst we are a much smaller country I really do believe our gun laws are th reason we have less of a problem than the USA.

I am not leftist by the way I am not rightist it is all a charad.

Very much agree, Son of R’lyeh, especially on point 4. It irks me to no end seeing the leftists (including many in my extended family) haughtily calling for guns to be eliminated, while at the same time they want stronger police and more laws (enforced with lots of guns).

The only people who are truly against guns are people like the Amish. But if the leftist regressives really were anti-gun, they would call for people to voluntarily give them up, not for the government to ban them. Again, because government bans are upheld by the threat of armed violence by men with guns.

99.9% of all Americans love guns. Looooooove guns. But many of them just have an irrational fear of guns being owned by ordinary citizens.

Totally understandable. I’m not really the one to make this argument as I’m not eloquent enough to really sell it, but to understand why Americans are so passionate about guns you have to understand that our nation was born in the blood of patriotic men who fought for their right to self-governance using their own weaponry.

The right to bear arms is not simply a cowboy or redneck thing, it’s the very foundation of our cultural identity. The idea that a government could turn against it’s people and need to be unseated by the people is not just imaginary, either… we’ve had to take up arms against our leaders once already, twice if you look at it from the perspective of the Confederacy.

I don’t think there’s anything in the British soul to compare. By contrast, reticent civility is the defining factor of the British populace. The second amendment protects the rest. Libs love to rub free speech in your face while they burn the flag. However they throw PC police at you if you say something they find offensive. They love to pick and choose the rights other people should live by. Hypocrisy is strong with libs.

I lived in Alaska most of my adult life. Me and several of my friends did a six day canoe trip through a brown bear infested wilderness. At the canoe take out their was a group of Germans salmon fishing. I walked by with my 30-06 and my .44 on my hip. They were absolutely amazed. I was the lightest armed man in the group. One of my friends served in the Berlin brigade. I believe in the 80’s, he spent 9 total years there. He understood what they were saying. They thought it was AWESOME!

We ended up UNLOADING several of them and they took pictures just holding them. It was hilarious. To this day the biggest smile I’ve ever seen was the older German. 45-70 over his shoulder and a .44 in each hand. He was absolutely beaming!

Guns AREN’T evil. But they can stop evil. Only people with bad intentions fear armed honest people.

Liberals may be afraid this is the first time they don’t have the upper hand. Suddenly they don’t trust the government to take the correct rights away. Who knows. Maybe they just want to protect their safe spaces better.
