Anyone doing a Google search today was treated to their banner celebrating the 293 birthday of Eva Ekeblad. So who is the is FAMOUS WOMAN—this ICON this SCIENTIST to be marveled at and held in awe and esteem—(AS demanded by our PC masters)

Well in the mid-18th century SHE and only SHE figured out how to dry out potato’s into potato flour! YEE GODS! Save a seat for her next to Fermi, Einstein, and Newton! And yes there is more SHE was responsible for increasing cultivation of potatoes in Sweden! BE STILL MY RACING HEART! YES THIS MONUMENTAL ACHIEVMENT staved off famine in Sweden.

So once again Google has to find some totally unimportant figure who they can transmogrify into some super-woman whose feats are the equal of any man—yeah right

I note they fail to mention that MEN, Specifically Spanish men brought the potato from south America to Europe is 1536—200 years before “her great discovery”. It makes me ill the way they try to elevate unimportant little footnotes into these awe-inspiring icons only to try an usurp the achievements of men.

Did you see Google cleared out 15,000 “1 Star Ratings” on the CNN app? CNN’s total rating on their app had fallen to just “1 Star” and Google cleared them out.

I had to be the bearer of bad news, but she is more important than that. Per Wikipedia:
[Eva Ekeblad (née Eva De la Gardie; 10 July 1724 – 15 May 1786) was a Swedish salonist and countess as well as agronomist and scientist. She was widely known for discovering a method in 1746 to make flour and alcohol from potatoes, the latter of which allowed more scarce grains to be used for food production, significantly reducing Sweden’s incidence of famine.]

I am sure that this contributed to Sweden’s “Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Relative Alcohol Consumption (pure alcohol) rating being 25 out of 33. They are ranked 50 out of 191 countries (age 15+ consumption in liters per capita.)

Not a big deal as internet review stats are among the easiest of measures to artificially inflate. Call them stars or call them Face Book friends, it a mindless way to stroke a person, or industries marketing.

Too many people or industries post information that is worthless in an examination by serious inquiry. They are looking for the masses to provide a few percentage points here and a few percentage there. Before long they are able to obtain a quantity of “Stars” that allows a false sense of legitimacy to place upon the organization.

It social media marketing 101 for the masses, if we make it look important … it must really be important and you will not only pay attention to it, but will tell all your friends to tell all their friends who will tell all their friends ……. ouroboros
