I don’t think lack of brotherhood is the issue. It’s that PUA’s suffer from two things:
1) Insatiable craving for validation. They’re like that mouse in the experiment that kept hitting the button to give it more cocaine, until it starved to death, but in this case the button (sporadically) gives validation instead of cocaine.
2) A skewed idea of what constitutes validation. They believe that getting into bed with some drunk nightclub skank who has been with 200 other guys somehow validates them.

That’s my inkling on the whole PUA too. They’re trying to prove something to themselves or someone else. Anyone who has traveled that road for any length of time (regardless of what it is you are trying to prove and to whom), learns it is a dead end.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.
