Don’t know how many writers there are on here, but today I attended a writing workshop, and the main focus of the class was how to overcome writer’s block. There’s a million ways, so I’ll list some.
-Write down how mad you are at having writer’s block.
-Don’t write or even think about writing for a week or two, just relax, watch tv or play a video game.
-Think of a company. Make up a fictional company, think of their slogan, think of what they make. Something fun or clever.
-Doodle or draw, just do something else
-Make it a rule that every other chapter or page, someone has to show up with a gun, have sex, or get murdered, whether is makes sense or not, just for fun
-Working out helps a lot. I don’t know about everyone else, but when I work out, my brain shuts off and I’m on auto pilot. Clears your mind, while being productiveThose are just some of them that we did, so I thought I’d share it. Don’t know how many writers we have on here.
Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.
I always thought most writers just rub one out. I don’t know how effective it is. lol

I always felt that any sort of a creative “block” is the result of a lack of passion.
When you are creating something with passion- you won’t even remember to stop and eat or sleep- the f~~~ing opposite of writers block will happen.
How to get passionate about something? Learn about it, research it, and become an expert in it. If that doesn’t cure your writers block, you probably shouldn’t write about it (because nobody wants to READ something that YOU weren’t even passionate about writing).

Mario Puzo wrote about writer’s block in The Last Don. (I believe he was writing about himself recast as a fictional author.) The fictional author realized the block came because he was not being creative. He solved it by forcing himself to write pages of hack work. Later on, he went back and did a rewrite. He was able to do this because pounding out the pages freed up whatever was blocking his creativity.
In my opinion, the worst that could happen with this method is the writer meets his contract deadline. No matter how disappointed he may be with himself, he does get paid.
