Getting back in shape is one of the best gifts a man can give himself.

Goodluck man. And don’t forget to have a smirk on when the married females with fat husbands check you out.

It hurts a lot the first days, but totally worth it, and remember don’t skip leg day:

The most efficient form of exercise I know is weight training (or resistance if you can’t access weights).

The most useful (not the same as efficient) form of exercise I know is a combat-ready form of martial arts. For example, what the military commandos are taught.

It follows that the best is an exercise program that combines both, in my not-so-humble opinion.

That’s great to hear. I have a little bit of a bear gut, but I plan on getting some kettle bells in a few weeks. I don’t have access to gym equipment, so I figured those are the next best thing.

The best decision I made was when I bought my first 30lb kettle bell last year. A few months later, I bought a second 30lb kettle bell, it’s been a year and I still have not felt the need to get a heavier pair. As long as you switch to a more intense/longer circuit, you will get a lot out of those bells.

I also have a 20lb that I use for kettle bell front raise snatches and kettle bell side raise snatches.

I haven’t been to a gym in at least a year.

Health is wealth, so be sure to boost your physical status. I’ve incorporated a lot more full body workouts as opposed to muscle specific targeted ones and I’ve become quite lean and defined in the last 2 months.

Good luck getting off the toilet seat for next 3 days after leg day!

Brother I know your struggle. Stay with it no matter what. What you do in the kitchen will always beat whatever workout you do.

If it costs you your peace of mind, then it is too expensive.

It’s funny for me to admit this, but that sore feeling you get the next day after a workout– I like that feeling. I don’t mind being a little sore after doing something. To me it feels good. Plus, that sore feeling means success, because when you feel like that, it means you did something right.

I have a membership at a local club, and I workout from the waist up. My doctor says that if I lose the weight (I’m 260 pounds 5’10”), my bad cholesterol should go down. It’s not bad, but it’s not something to brag about either. I want to work my fat gut into smooth abs, round chest, bulging biceps and triceps, big deltoids, and I need my back to be stronger so I don’t have that strain on it after getting out of bed every day.

    I started 4 days ago.
I have soreness in my NECK :D.

The thing is… I dont like pain but soreness make me laugh. I dont know why but remembering that I got all those muscles just… it feels hilarious.

Last time I did this (1 year ago moreless) trying get back to shape I lasted a bit over 2 months.
Then I had a very bad pain in a foot and had to make a full stop for 3 months. I didn’t continue after that, so Im starting from scratch again.

The only advice I can give you is this:
Stretch and water. Dont forget those 2.

And yes, It does feel good to be doing this again.
