There’s a difference between fantasy and outright outlandish ideas. The worst sin is to swap genders within the same franchise and package it as “new”. Maybe it’ll draw slightly more females, with a drop-off of males viewers, but ultimately the studios should be glad if they can get even financially.

I don’t really watch movies so I could care less these days. Just shooting/messing around with my guns, videogames, whatever I need around the house, and maybe netflix if I need to watch TV and kill a few hours at night.
