My perspective as a pagan/agnostic/atheist:

al Sisi in Egypt himself has said (in front of a group of stone-faced clerics) that Islam doesn’t need a reformation, it needs a revolution.

Christianity and Judaism both had reformations. It was necessary in Christianity because Christians had gone too far from the roots of the early Christians.

I find it ironic that the Muslims kept pushing into Christian territory in the Middle East and then bitch about the reaction to it called “The Crusades”. They forced Christians (who once were tossed by the Romans to the lions for refusing to serve in the army because of pacifism) to become more like Muslims.

There are good Muslims, but those are the ones that either heavily cherry pick from Islam, or don’t actually practice the actual core of the religion, which at its heart is a death-fertility cult bent on maximizing reproduction to create an army of expendible, unrelenting soldiers that will forcibly convert non-believers.

I see no mechanism for either a reformation or a revolution in Islam.

I consider “moderate” Muslims to be the logistical tail end of an army of conquest, just like many soldiers in the US Army don’t actually fight with rifles but they are still considered soldiers.

There is an extreme tension in the air where I am.
