I attended the funeral of a close family member. In attendance, was my sister, whom I haven’t spoken to in almost five years and brought a few of her friends along. Female friends that I have met in the past on several occasions, and even had sex with a few of them back in my manwhore days. I haven’t seen or spoken to any of them since I moved away and stopped talking to my sister.

It’s amazing how badly the wall has hit all of them. It’s also amazing how many of them blatantly hit on me, during a funeral of someone very near and dear to me. I was the first one there and the last one to leave because I really did care about this person very much. It’s almost like they can sense how I’m unmarried, early 30’s, retired, and about to get a nice six figure inheritance. No single mom with two kids that I had sex with 10 years and 100 pounds ago, I don’t want to get coffee with you and “catch up”. No Ms. TenPoundsofWarPaint, I don’t want to go back to your place when this is over and I don’t need a “shoulder to cry on”. Even then, I still kept civil and gave them my phone number when they asked because I know women don’t handle rejection well and the last thing I wanted was to cause a scene. They were even smart and pulled the “let me call you so you have my number” line. I gave more than a handful of them my number. I called Verizon the next day and had them issue me a new number.

At least I probably won’t see them again any time soon.
