Fructose was introduced into processed foods by Richard Nixon during the ‘War on poverty’ in order to balance the volatile nature of food prices to help him win the election.

Consequently, as the consumption of fructose has increased over the last 30 years so has the incidence of obesity. In fact obesity is now a problem in even 6 month old children!

It is a carbohydrate that is metabolized like fat (30% of any fructose load ends up as fat), thus a low fat diet isn’t really low fat because the fructose metabolises as fat!

It is an hepatotoxin and is metabolised similarly to alcohol. For this reason it causes many of the same chronic health conditions as alcohol. Notice how alcohol is the product of fermenting sugar, hence soda gut is very much akin to beer belly.

‘It is alcohol without the buzz’ (the brain does not acutely metabolise fructose like it does with alcohol)

Hepatic fructose metabolism leads to all the manifestations of metabolic syndrome!

    Hypertension
    dyslipidaemia
    de novo lipogenesis
    inflammation
    obesity
leptin resistance (eating fructose won’t make you feel full so you can eat this s~~~ all day)
    insulin resistance and T2 diabetes

    Intervention method:

Get rid of all sugared liquids, only water and milk to be consumed
    Eat carbs with fibre
Wait 20 mins for second portions
Buy screen time minute for minute with physical activity

Why exercise is important in obesity?
To burn calories? This is in vain due to the high caloric consumption vs the time it takes to burn the calories.

Exercise improves skeletal muscle insulin sensitivity
reduces stress and cortisol release (less stress = reduced hunger cravings)
makes the crebs cycle run faster and detoxifies fructose (less citrate = less VLDL (the bad fat)), improving hepatic insulin sensitivity

Why is fibre important in obesity?

“When god made the poison, he packaged it with the antidote”.

Fructose from fibrous sources (fruit) is fine because it limits the amount of sugar consumed vs the refined version and the fruit has nutrient density

    Fiber:
-Reduces rate of intestinal carb absorption, reducing insulin response
-Speeds up transit of intestinal contents to ileum and induces satiety
-Inhibits absorption of some free fatty acids to the colon, which are metabolised by colonic bacteria to short chain fatty acids, which suppress insulin

The FDA can’t ban it because their policy for protecting people from dangerous foods only applies to acutely damaging products and not chronic like Fructose. Furthermore, processed foods are one of the few things the US exports on a large scale around the world. The USDA created the food pyramid and their job is to sell food. For them to admit that fructose is bad for your health would be bad for business.

Great RedDawn. Perfect example of why democracy is s~~~.

The sugar industry is worth billions, they give money to the government so they’ll tell us to poison ourselves with tasty foods.

    Not us gentlemen.

    We’ve seen the code.

I try to tell people this. They do not want to listen.

Once you realize that everything and everyone around you has been poisoned or corrupted in some way, you realize there is no point in long term planning. That is what it is to take the red pill and see reality for the fiction it really is.
