    Tonight we really have something different—some Spanish music on a Spanish instrument…once you hear a Spanish organ you will never forget it—nothing sounds like it. For those unfamiliar with organ stops or ranks most of this is performed on really big reed choruses…its really different but enjoy. (Especially the counter-point between ranks at the end!

    Thank you PP, like you I’m a cat lover and a musician and this thread is just what I needed to take a break from red pilling it and have a brew and try to forget.

    I can’t see my Turkish Van cat. He lives with the ex and is older (couldn’t travel well). She won’t let me see him. I’m living in a bedsit and can’t have pets.

    @ngelo(DOES)

    I know what you mean–He posted this earlier in the week and it convinced me to find the soundtrack album. It is very Saint-Saens in flavor. I like it very much—even though its much more Romantic era and my first love is the Renaissance/baroque.

    My offering tonight is a little hard on the nerves if your not used to it so your offering is a fine counter-point—Many thanks!

    Definitely not the “church lady” music.

    I hear “paint it black” mixed in the last piece you posted @ngelo(DOES).

    There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it

    Music starts at 2:14. The rest is a bit of Hollywood type showmanship and hype. I like these guys though and many of their musical numbers.

    God that s~~~ is fascinating, I thought Stealthy might put on some guitar music. Since the Spanish stuff probably rattled everyone’s nerves here is something to calm everyone down:

    …my first love is the Renaissance/baroque.

    Ditto on that, PistolPete.

    A buddy of mine is an organist who plays full time for my mom’s church, the Detroit Opera House and a bunch of other venues.

    But my favorite is when he gets to rippin’ some Bach on the church’s brand spankin’ new, million-dollar organ. I even helped install the thing. Have you ever heard a brand new, finely tuned organ? It’s a force, I tell you, a force!

    Thanks for the organ concerts, Pete, I always enjoy them.

    my brother yumbo! I was worried you had gone the way of suggestious, old bill and stentorian; thank God you are still with us.

    Interesting find. Never heard a Spanish organ before, so far as I can remember. Good stuff as usual.
