A number of the works of Bach display an influence by Italian composers and its an interesting combination here are a few works in that vein.

C minor Fugue on a theme by Giovanni Legrenzi BWV 574

BWV 596 (based on the Concerto in d-minor, Opus 3, no. 11 by Vivaldi

    Canzona in d-minor, BWV 588

Fugue in b-minor on a theme of Corelli, BWV 592

For those really interested the Organ used in C minor Fugue on a theme by Giovanni Legrenzi BWV 574 and Canzona in d-minor, BWV 588 is St Hedvig Eleonora church Stockholm. I love this instrument the link gives you the stop list. And the heavy pedal in the first work is the 32′ bombard.

I always enjoy these. I play music like this while I do house chores. Makes it more enjoyable.

I like the first vid, Bach fugue in C minor. It sounds like an ominous call to war.

    Thanks Pete
