Was installing a television antenna for an elderly neighbor today. I haven’t had commercial tv for a few years but still enjoy amateur radio and recorded media so it was fun experimenting again and putting up a rooftop antenna system for them in this rural area.
As we tested the new antenna we got thirteen channels but it was difficult to find one that wasn’t advertising. I mean we actually laughed as we moved from one commercial to the next without finding a program to watch.
The point is that when I last watched broadcast tv I thought there were lots of commercials, but it really seems that lately the frequency of commercials as compared to actual entertainment programming has noticeably increased.

Good post. How about commercials on paid tv like cable or satellite? I think they’re just as bad. I turned in my cable box 5 yrs ago and never looked back.

Commercials are part of the reason why I don’t watch TV anymore.

That’s why everyone’s getting rid of tv. You pay a huge bill, and there’s nothing but commercials. Why not just hop online to watch what you want with no bulls~~~, just entertainment.

Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.

I still have cable because I’m a WWE wrestling fan. But time is fast approaching I won’t need that anymore because they put the segments on youtube that I want to see, and I can skip the other 95% of it.

I sense the day is coming for me too.

TV’s incessant commercials mentally punish anyone trying to maintain a train of thought. They were thereby linked in a study in France to actually cause Attention Deficit in children.

People burn more calories with their brains by staring at the ceiling.

If you want life to be tougher, watch TV (([(John Wayne indirectly)])).

Like Bunker says, turn your TV off.

"It seems like there's times a body gets struck down so low, there ain't a power on earth that can ever bring him up again. Seems like something inside dies so he don't even want to get up again. But he does."
