For decades every area of French industry and agriculture has been massively subsidised with EU money. That’s what enabled Germany to buy the French vote (and those of its tin pot eastern european satellites).

But now the EU cupboard is bare. Even Deutsche Bank is on the bones of its arse. Germany is desperately trying to get its gold deposits back from the US.

So the French government has had to hike the price of fuel to try and keep the show on the road. For the first time in a generation, the French are actually having to pay their way, and they don’t like it.

It is easy to understand. The previous French election was rigged for Macron.

From what I have read, the way the French elections worked is that each voter is mailed a letter with two ballots, one for each candidate and each voter would mail back the one ballot of the candidate the voter supports.

In the previous election, there were mass reports that specific voter letters were missing Le Pen (the nationalists running against Macron) ballots and in some cases specific voter letters had two Macron ballots.

Due to the way the French laws are, the media in France is forbidden to comment on the election during the election, even to the point foreign media and social media is banned in France, so any election rigging in France has a complete media blackout during the French election.
