Is there any value in Mens groups like the Masons, Elks, etc. or are they just a bunch of white knight groups.

Are there any members here? What say you?

I got a recruitment pitch back in the 1990’s for the Masons.

It seemed ok, but it struck me as very, very old and almost all Tradcon men. I can’t recall what portion where what in terms of Redpill / Bluepill because I didn’t think that way back then.

I would have been the only male under 30-35, one of only three men under 50. But since I am an agnostic, that put an end to things before there where too many deep questions about my marital status.

I did have one sort of question my sexuality. “What, don’t you like women ?”. That was Tradcon talk back then for old men to ask “Are you ‘queer’ or just no good with women ?”

They tended to be religious since they did not accept agnostics and atheists as members. I just moved along, and remember feeling strangely relieved that the religion issue cut it all short and might have spared people hurt feelings.

But that was over 20 years ago, and the memories are a little foggy. Generally, a swell bunch of guys and I still know a few.

PS: I remember a lot more now. They did not strike as totally a bunch of white knights, but on an individual some might be. Also, it was ALL white, and even though I am white, that did not make me feel comfortable. I got too many good friends who are black or other races. These are good brothers, if they aren’t good enough for you, then I’m not any better.

Between it being all white, old, religious and conservative, it just struck me as too narrow. I enjoy a good conversation with a thoughtful person who disagrees with me. It felt almost “insular”.

Perhaps more memories will come back. I just hope I am not making them sound too bad, they weren’t. It was just like a stuffy living room in the early spring that needed the windows opened wide to let in fresh air.

I would like to see more fraternal organizations existing and being active.

There are a lot of men especially younger men needing a place to belong and a lot of organizations that will use men up and spit them out..

    an illusion .
it’s a waste of time and energy.
better to use your time reading and watching videos.
these groups prey on people who DON’T know much about them.
    research before joining..
    you won’t join.

I think the younger generation, about 35 and under, have used the internet to find a better solution.

Or so it seems to me.

I’ve met men who belong to the brotherhood of freemasonry and it always felt weird talking to them.
    Strange and off putting.
Personally, I’ve never been part of any fraternity and don’t really care to join one.

There was one group event I went to. It was a charity golf tournament. It was mostly lawyers and insurance salesmen looking for clients. That’s the last time I ever associated with those groups.

I bathe in the tears of single moms.

I hate how so many young men join gangs looking for a place to belong.

I read about how men in the UK went to teahousees 100s of years ago to hang out together and talk.Their c~~~ wives didn’t like it so they appealed to the king to close the teahousees.

Unfortunately they aren’t really fraternal societies any more, Not since the courts forced them to accept female members.

Also, it was ALL white, and even though I am white, that did not make me feel comfortable.

Just so you know there are black freemasons, and also traditionally black freemason lodges such as the Prince Hall lodges (that also allow white members). Freemasonry isn’t one monolithic thing, but more a complex web of interconnected but independent lodges each doing their own thing.

I worked with such a man years ago, got to know him and some of the brothers well. Same situation applied in the sense they don’t take agnostics.

But I can respect that. I should have made it more clear it was a “Blue” Lodge.

I am a Mason and I’ve been one for quite some time. I can attest that there are different types of men involved, like any other group of men. I wouldn’t say it’s a white knight group at all, more like men who normally wouldn’t associate brought together by a common…bond. Sure there may be some brothers who probably white knight and are all blue pill but there are also those in the know in regards to red pill and MGTOW by any other name. Feel free to ask any questions and if I can help I will.

Women are not allowed in freemasonry at all. There’s some funny business in France but that doesn’t fly here and in general. Never will a woman sit in a Lodge with with me. There is The Order of the Eastern Star but in no way are women allowed in Freemasonry. Even today in this gynocentric society.

Most of the masons I know go down to the lodge to get away from women. A lot of them are MGTOW even though they’ve never heard of it.

Well I know the courts forced the elks and a few others to allow women to join as full members. It’s probably only a matter of time before they set their sights on the masons.

Solidtude: Welcome, always to get the other side of the story. Thanks for stepping up.

There is a lot of trash talk about the Masons. The general public seldom gets to hear the other side.
