France tackles screen sexism with subsidy for women

France is to give movies made by women a special subsidy bonus in a bid to counter sexism in the film industry, its culture minister said Wednesday.

Francoise Nyssen, who helped launch the 50/50 pledge on gender equality earlier this year that has since shaken Hollywood, said productions that are “exemplary” on equality will get an extra 15 percent subsidy.

The new bonus will work on a points system, Nyssen said, with productions given one point for a female director, scriptwriter or chief technician.

A film will have to get eight points to qualify for the extra cash.

Wheres the government giving compaines whose jobs are masively overrepresented by women? Where the govt subsidy for medical groups to hire male murses. Wheres the govt subsidy for schools to hire white heterosexual men? Wheres the subsidy to hire more male au pairs, flight attendants who arent gay, lawyers, etc.

Here in the UK, local authorities have been spending millions on ‘women oriented’ schemes for years. Need money for another ‘feminist initiative’? Close another hospital.

The government and liberal manginas’ subsidy on s~~~e female art is huge.

It is becoming a real problem. I am 100% confident that this art will in future be regarded as collectible only as a curiosity -like Nazi art or bits of the Berlin wall. It will be collectible because it is s~~~e but it says something about history and government oppression.

I await the counter movement. They will be worth something in future years.
