The best though was the guy who said his wife has been going out of her way to be a nasty c~~~ and constantly holding the threat of divorce over his head for the last two years, and he finally went to the lawyer and filed for the divorce himself. She threw a fit about it, and he said he told her wtf do you want me to do, live my life listening to you blame all your problems on me and say you want a divorce while I keep saving for retirement for us while you don’t contributing anything just so you can divorce me 5-10 years down the road and take half? I’d rather just cut my losses now…half is going to be less than it will be in the future, and I’ll have more time to rebuild.
Absolutely, always better to get divorced sooner rather than later as she will get less and it gives you more years to build up your funds afterwards. I was 41 when I divorced and it is tough starting again from nothing, but after a few years of building up your funds you start to realse it is going to be OK. I was told a story of a guy who is 51 with a 4 year old and a 10 year old who is getting divorced from his 38 year old wife. This is prime divorce age for a woman as they are worried about their SMV, thinking “Is this really what life is about” and decide they need to get out now for one last ride on the carousel before it is too late.
So this guy is 51, going to lose the house and is signed up for at least 14 more years of baby jail. that means he is 65 at the earliest once payments stop and unless he has a very well paid job there is no way he can buy a house, save for retirement and pay her alimony in those 14 years. Guy is truly f~~~ed while she is now made for life.
This is why you should never get married, all the assets and money you worked so hard to accumulate will be gone and you will have to start from scratch when she decides she is bored, it is your fault and she needs some Alpha gina tingles again.

I am religious and the sad thing is I use to be very thankful for my relationship with the ex. I was mortified when she left for a Chad and I thought my prayers had been shunned. Turns out, I was really saved from a fate far worse if the relationship had lasted longer. I am truly grateful.

Despite being divorced and having custody of my only child, I got “it must be nice not to have anyone else to take care of” and s~~~ like that from both men and women.

It always amazed me when I was young and freshly divorced how many wives didn’t want their husbands being friends with me. I was a happy single guy. It represented a threat to her way of life. I remember a friend of mine on the ship wanted me to come over and fix his TV. So, I went to his house and troubleshot the problem. I was about to fix it when in walks the wife. She proceeded to give me the third degree and basically threw me out of the house in front of the husband, who never said a word. I found out later, she wanted a new TV. He never spoke to me again. The look in his eyes spoke volumes, but I already knew. I had an ex, he was still stuck.

I’ve never heard a man encourage or discourage marriage during a conversation. Two of my married friends warned me that I won’t get to have sex whenever I want to. That’s a red flag worth contemplating.
A few stressed out women with children said “good for you” when I told them I don’t have kids—which is funny.

I came to this realization a year or so ago. I have come to terms with the nature of reality regarding women and am finding peace.

The trouble is they believe there is an endless line of millionaire, Brad Pill lookalikes who are desperate to take them on, the reality is they just become pump and dump fodder for worse and worse quality men.
So the wallet she is with now is actually a really decent guy, but she has already turned him into her own little slave. Last time I was over there she sat on the sofa while he put the bins out, cooked the dinner and then came in with a gin and tonic for her. Trouble is, I know from experience that the more you do for a woman the more she resents you so all he is doing is becoming a doormat in her eyes. She is 39, so I suspect she is currently trying to decide if she should settle or if there really is one final, final ride of the carousel available to her. I suspect she has orbiters on Facebook and is flirting with them, just as she did before she cheated on me.
Don’t forget, women were on the carousel for 15 years before they got married, but had looks on their side that time. They could pick and choose who they wanted and everything went their way. They get back on in their late 30s and they think it will be exactly the same but they soon learn the harsh reality. So they start off buying the new lingerie, f~~~ some 20something year olds, have a 3some and start the search for the new perfect man because they deserve it after the last “bastard” they married. This is a man where the only thing he did wrong was be too nice and make her life too easy. So they look for the good looking, loaded man with a property portfolio who is a decent guy with that bad boy exciting edge. They don’t understand these guys are f~~~ing 25 year olds and don’t want an overweight woman with two kids and a crappy job. This is where the panic sets in and they start looking for the next beta wallet (the “not into one night stands” on the dating adds is only for them) but still being pump and dump fodder for every man they date.

My business trip is currently winding down, twelve or more hours a days seven days a week since late August working with a group of nearly all men performing a time critical and incredibly involved series of installed equipment inspections in a heavy industrial setting.

All I know is I’ve watched so many of my male friends and family go down and burn up upon reentry. The women seem to emerge unscathed and better off for the experience. My friend’s youngest brother lost his 35 acres and his house to a tramp he married. He lives in a ratty camper trailer now on a friend’s property drinking his way to liver cirrhosis.

It truly is sad, but I don’t want to be a statistic; again. I got really lucky with the ex – she comes from money and got bored (borderliner) – so I f~~~ing ran for the fire-exit when I clued in.
At least with travel hookups, everyone is operating under the premise that it is a one night stand without any expectation of LTR. Sex and good times. Plus, I document the consent.
Like everything in life there is a small risk; but nothing nearly as suicidal as marriage and LTR’s. As I get older I can see myself going full monk – but at mid-late 30s it’s just a little too soon.

Recently I was at a party and some older guy in late 60s started up a conversation. He didn’t take long to dump his story on me, worked for the railroad his whole life, married 40+ years and he was most miserable man alive. He knew he was going to die never realizing any of his dreams because he spent his life taking care of her dreams and never getting a thing back in return. I was seriously sad for this old man.
