I really like this but for those unfamiliar with it exercise patience, you’ll be glad you did.

    Jesus Christ…PistolPete , good find
Helmut Walcha is my favorite Organist. He did get blind at the age of 19 and was one of the major performers of Bach’s organ works. (On the Grand Piano it was Glenn Gould).

Walcha is known for his recordings of the complete organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach.

    OXYGEN.

    Part 2 ?

If you want to get mad, try the Zoolook CD of Jarre.

Ok then, Greg. In that case let me add a little bit more to it then.

Since I practically grew up with both rock music as well as with classical music (thanks to my parents) I early learned to appreciate some great classical music works not only by the likes of Bach (favorite organ piece being Toccata; very famous one but also a few other greats he did) but also other international master composers such as Dvorak, Schubert and even that French composer Berlioz (links further below) covering a great variation of different musical moods and styles. So here are the links. Feel free to appreciate and/or even enjoy them:

    one famous piece by Dvorak

a brief but very melancholy and spine chilling piece by Schubert

and finally a rather not very widely known piece by Berlioz

All this kind of classical music (plus a few more works) I grew up with or respectively they were covered within my musical education later on at school, so really:

    A life without music isn’t really a life … … to me.

I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Back to the plantation..? Me..? Hey, literally: I won't ever fucking kid myself...YZERLMNTSIC

Have to agree with Hollow here, great find Pete…I’ll be listening all morning doing chores, better than the news eh…..

Men are at a time when panning for gold in a urinal has a higher probability of success than finding a faithful and loving woman, it is time to go your own way.....

Many thanks Guys, glad everyone enjoyed it! Actually my favorite recording of this is Lionel Rogg. Reason: Back died before this work was complete, and Rogg a composer in his own right created a finale for it that is earthshaking literally. (And the instrument he uses At St. Peters in Geneva Switzerland is a 1965 Metzer & Son WOW)

I’m glad so many members dig classical music—it is the hallmark of western civilization. It really does define who and what we are all about.

Don’t sweat it May 7, a lot of people feel that way but believe it or not its not the instrument but rather the Key the work is in. Minor key works tend to be “creepy” or as I say melodramatic, but Major key works are very bright and uplifting—Check out Bach’s Gigue fugue BWV 577. Its short about 3 minutes but it will get the blood pumping the morning!

Great post Pete – thanks for that.
    I especially love his Harpsichord Concertos. 1052 – 1058
    That’s genius right there.

@ blade – I remember Oxygene – Jarre was the icon of synthesizer back in the 80’s. Still got his CD’s somewhere..

Excellent pick Yumbo! I also really like the Chromatic Fantasy. Its unfortunate that harpsichord has fallen into disuse.
