Husband passes out on the plane. Wife decides to use his fingerprint while he’s asleep to unlock his phone and go through it. She finds out he’s cheating on her and starts beating him. She won’t calm down and the plane is forced to land and kick them off the plane. An entire plane full of people spent an extra couple hours getting to their final destination because she couldn’t control herself.

This brings up an interesting dilemma with the new iPhone. It has facial recognition. So, if you are asleep, can someone just hold it up to your face and gain access to your phone?

Also, if you currently use your fingerprint to lock down your phone, don’t ever go to sleep or pass out near cupcake. You may wake up to getting your ass kicked.

I worry more about the abuses by law enforcement officials. No need to ask for permission, just scan your fingerprint or face.

You should set up the additional pin code requirement with the fingerprint or face scan, which I highly recommend.

My old company PC was installed in 11-2006 and has seen 100s of installed programs… And it “ate” 3 power supplies (Pentium D 3.2)

60000 hours on the 3 1TB HDDs that came in 2009, no bad sectors.

And the same system keeps living on a newer main board, to keep access to my old “XP only” software.

But all data is doubled on my over 30 USB drives. And on my newer PC’s. All of them have gotten 2-3 TB.

SO even if a lightning bolt evaporates everything, the USB drives (also fitted with 24/7 server disks) will save my life.

And the most terribly important data can be burned to DVD and buried in the yard. (In case of “fire” including uninvited “visitors”)

But I never let a c~~~ use it.

Never used one.

I have an old Android 2.1 Garmin Fone.

I don’t want the government to have my fingerprints. I’d rather memorize 500 passwords and keep them backed up (in secret writing) in my 1980’s paper card register box.

And I never have (or keep) confidential data on such a bulls~~~ device.

And never use a “job phone” or “job PC” for private s~~~.

They can take it back (confiscate it) and then their IT officer will run data rescue software on it with the end result that your employer knows all about you.
