I just thought I would give some of you younger fellas what it was like ” back in the day” before the feministas outrageous nonsense.
We had a big black dial phone & you could look up the girls number in the phone book. You all ready knew her name because she was in your class at school & she was cute & you were all ready head over heels for her just by looking at her.
You dialed her number. Mom or Dad would answer.
    ” May I speak to Suzie ”
Who should I say is calling?
    Its Johnny from English class.
” Suzie” they would call out ” Its Johnny”
Then you would ask. If she said “yes” it was usually her Dad who would ride you both to the movie or the dance. Him driving & you two in the back
This of course after scrutiny by both her Mom & Dad as you waited in her house for her to come down the stairs.
This is my experience. Unfortunately, the days of innocence are long gone
I don’t need to go on about what’s happening today…. We all know that’s why were MGTOW

I still have some on those phone books from my early days, as well the wall mounted “bell south” rotary phone I used.

Party lines were a special limited party in those days. Thank you for the memories.

We didn’t have a phone in the house for much of my life. Pops would not/could not afford it. Instead we hiked ass to grandma’s house to use the phone or the convince store if we could score change.

Granny had a ‘Party Line’ freaked me the f~~~ out for years.

I remember a date I went on where I came inside the house to meet the family. After about a half hour of friendly banter the girl and I walked to the door. I opened the door and she walked outside. As I stood at the door I turned to her father almost as an afterthought and said, “Oh, Mr. XXXX, what time would you like me to bring your daughter home?” He smiled back at me and said, “Midnight will be fine.” I nodded and walked my date to the car. She turned to me and said, “How did you do that? He told me I had to be home by eleven.” I just smiled. I was always good getting along with the parents. Their daughters, however, were quite another matter.

Wow. My first date was nothing like that. I could elaborate but I won’t bore you.

The days of memorizing phone numbers and long conversations tying up the phone are over. The age of innocence is lost forever. I can still remember my school crushes number. All I was looking back was an orbiter that she threw a line to when she needed it but was never good enough to “date”. I had no new car or a lot of money, status. I truly liked her. Now looking back as a man it was so much time wasted it seemed. Those times taught me a lot, it just took becoming a man to realize the value of it. Hence why we are all here sharing our stories and memories for other men to see the light of there s~~~. We all can’t be wrong when our memories and horror stories only have a few really different bends in them. Same story slightly different angle. Those times as a youth were fun. Thanks Brothers for the reminders!

I don’t recall it operating like that. I always would set a date in person and get their number personally. I never looked them up in the phone book.

I would have phone conversations with them and had to go through parents first. Also always had to meet the parents. As a parent myself now, I definitely want to see who my kids are dating while they live under my roof.

    Ok. Then do it.
