Uncontested divorce hearing in 9 days. Hopefully that will be an uneventful day marked only by everything going as written and planned in separation agreement (and in ex’s response to divorce petition paperwork).

August 30 would thus be delineated as the start of the “Golden Age” of Ranger One.

I wouldn’t get married again even if we entered a Without-Rule-Of-Law (WROL) scenario.

I much prefer living by myself and having a non-cohabitating gf post-vasectomy. Gf’s tend to be more eager-to-please than a wife.

Having already discussed with the gf the fact that I will never remarry, I do every once in a while make a crack about how marriage is stupid, just as a reminder of the past discussion, so she doesn’t think anything has changed. I even nixed the idea of going to her cousin’s wedding in the Fall, since I said I would feel like I’m going to a Funeral with cake and I don’t need the calories.

I actually used that terminology in an email to the gf, essentially that I “don’t see any sense in a marriage contract in the 21st century”/

Every day a little rebuilding. Today, I bought a couple more small clear plastic bins for organizing my model buildings for my trains.

Just TWO more days for me! So for me, it’ll be TGIW, on August 30.

Ex is quite busy with her Chad/whiteknight down in Texas dealing with hurricane water issues. I’ll have to remind her Tuesday evening to phone in for divorce hearing.

Not QUITE over yet. Had the divorce hearing, nothing particularly formal. Magistrate printed up the papers. They should be arriving soon (sans gold seal). There is a two week waiting period for the uncontested divorce after that. Then I should get the gold-seal official divorce decree (dated 2 or 3 days from when I get it).

So about 2 more weeks from today, and I’ll be officially divorced. I’m probably going to get a bottle of rum to celebrate. Haven’t bought any booze in nearly a year, although have had an occasional glass of wine of the gf’s — I’m a teetotaler.

Just a normal 4 day weekend of finally finishing “Far Cry 4” video game campaign, gardening, doing housework and home improvement stuff, watching movies, getting son ready for school again, laundry, etc.
