There were malicious people signing up and trying to vandalize our site. In fact, last night, someone signed up with the name “d33p hack m0d r00t” (deep hack mod root) and we booted their ass in seconds. Now, we get a receipt of every user who attempts to login, and we know who is logging in from where. It’s important in the best interest of all of our members. If you’re locked out we know it and we can help you.

We started with a very open concept but some people are furiously jealous of what we have done here. THEY literally forced us do it this way. Every member MUST be able to reset their password and they must be valid. Especially if they are going to be creating content. We can’t let just any joker with a bulls~~~ email upload stuff and post. Its the minimum amount of credibility we ask for. A valid & verified email.

Resetting a password is not asking our members for much. It costs us 12-15 hours to bring the site back up sometimes and implement site wide measures because these c~~~s don’t have a life of their own the ability to create anything of value to anyone.

Special thanks to those members who took the extra minute, if they are not invested enough for that, we don’t want them anyway. If the frustration of resetting a password is too much for them, imagine what’s like for us. And then multiply it by 11,000.

Well the whole “strong passwords reset” thing only needs to be done once. It’s actually a relatively new feature this year and we were not very rigid about it until now.

That’s so funny. I’m computer challenged and when I tried a 20 letter and character password and it failed me as weak, I was determined to get in one way or another by hook or crook. Neither worked but on my 4th attempt I lucked in. Go figure eh ?

On the other hand, FrankV and DeepInThought and BigBoy had some problems but we answered 305 emails about this today to make it easier. All new users who signed up in the last couple of months have to do it.

You don’t even need to memorize it! You can always generate a new one in like 30 seconds with access to your email.
Our system will even generate it for you.

1. Go here
2. Enter your email and send yourself the link
3. Click on the link in the email and you will see this screen with a random strong password already created for you.

4. Copy that s~~~. Click reset and log in using that password. Done!

Got a problem with any of these steps? Didn’t get the email? Just let us know and we will work with you on it. You can do it anytime even if you forget what the password is.

Not a problem Bud, I had to get creative with my passwords, but this time i had to pull some out some creative s~~~, hahaha!. You guys work hard to keep this kick ass site going, so cheers you to!. I wish it was a beer i was toasting, but it’s water because I just got a tooth extracted(thanks to a f~~~-up dentist a few years back). yesterday so it’s all juice and water for the next two weeks.

I’m glad the site is back up. No biggie with the stronger passwords.
I wish this attacks will stop someday but I’m not holding my breath.
Just feel so sad every time an attack brings it down. It means a lot to me.

I do what I can, but really- this place has plenty of guys who pull their own weight and then some. A recent post I made could never have been done without OldBill spotting the article that I commented on. I’m a new guy, but I like to think I add a little something. But I do far more reading them writing, I just read when I can’t log on.

Thanks again, KeyMaster, you raise the bar high. I am sure that whatever the surprise is, it will be very will worth it.
