What a missed opportunity to make a great turn of phrase.

I do not support the use of waterboarding to extract intelligence from terrorist suspects. Of course, I don’t support the use of nuclear weapons on potential enemy nations either, but every president since Truman… including Obama… has kept the “nuclear option” on the table. Apparently the THREAT of doing something no rational human would ever do is pretty effective, no?

Again, I can’t decide if Trump is an idiot or a genius. He can’t possibly believe congress will approve the use of torture… but then again by simply mentioning waterboarding (rather than covertly doing it and then pretending it’s not torture the way the NeoCons did) he sends a message to terrorists that he’s a dangerous, loose cannon AND gives congressional Democrats something to get their knickers in a twist about while he merrily goes about building the wall.

I’m kinda leaning toward genius here.

Now I’ve got to read his book. If this s~~~ goes well, it’s going to unseat _Rules For Radicals_ as the 21st century companion to Sun Tsu’s _The Art of War_

Strange as it may seem I don’t support the use of torture under any circumstance—why? Simple that is something the enemy does and we’re supposed to be the good guys. Having said that I do support execution of terrorists. I could have emptied Gitmo in an hour.

I don’t support the reinstatement of Bush era torture, because of the possibility of it being applied to us ‘dissident’ men at some point in the future.

Goes back to understanding the fundamentals of strength and power. The most powerful nations don’t need to fire their nukes as long as everyone knows they COULD.

That woman who punches you and initiates violence would NEVER do it if she knew you would have no problem spending a few nights in jail for the satisfaction of bashing her face in. Before the question even comes out of their mouths, you make sure they understand that you could. Whether you will — or won’t — now depends on their next move. When the message is understood properly, you won’t need to.
