Having attended college, and working in Tech cubicle life for almost 30 years, I would implore my son NOT to got to college. Learn a real trade, get apprenticed and then licensed, then some day start your own business. ALL of my friends in the trades that eventually started their own business, have lifestyles MUCH higher than mine as an engineer. F~~~ college, you come out with a load of debt up your ass, your reward is to sit in a cubical like a zoo animal…in a nightmare SJW environment. Thank god engineers in my field are still 90% male at least, otherwise I’d rather quit and go work at McDonalds instead. The other upside to starting your own business of any kind: then the c~~~s have to pay you, and legally jack them for every possible dollar you can.

Beside the family, small business is the backbone of society. Both of my parents owned a business and were true partners sharing the work.

If I were a little smarter I could have earned 3 x what I made as an employee. I had to put up with a ton of s~~~ from the cubicle crowd.

But I got a great retirement of which I took advantage of at precisely 55. You have to take everything into account when you own your own business.
