I’m against censorship in almost any case, but really, if this were allowed in China, I’d bet most if not all their citizens would avoid this movie like the plague.

Grave? I did not know he was dead. Man, I really am a hermit. I remember loving ghostbusters as a kid. I don’t know what they were thinking, but it obviously didn’t work. Another remake Im glad to see tanked, but just another thing for them to complain about. I wonder if any of them ever has a passing thought in their head like “Gee, maybe Im doing something wrong, maybe I suck?” No? Just wondering.

From what I understand, China refused ghostcunsters because it has ghosts in it. China has some weird rule against movies involving the supernatural. That being said, even without that rule I think China would still have refused it.

Sony should have known this from the start. More and more I wonder just what the f~~~ they were thinking when they greenlighted this albatross.

I’m looking forward to this movie, seeing it with my kids. I had a good discussions with my kids (girl – 10, boy -12) about the movie and feminism in general. My daughter is excited, and while son was willing to see it but indifferent.

My daughter started out saying typical stuff about women being able to do what men do, which then clarified son’s thoughts. He responded with pointing out that the original ghostbusters were funny because they were men, being men. Women trying to be like men isn’t funny. I asked my daughter how she would feel if Harley Quinn (her favorite character) was played by a man? “I would be mad!” Light bulb came on.

We talked further about what feminism says it is and what it actually is. Talked about the pay gap lie (which my daughter agreed with, though she doesn’t know the facts). I explained that there are plenty of good female characters, who are good because they act like women, not act like men.

So we are going to watch the original, and take note of how many times the men make fun of women. Then we will watch the new version, looking for how many times the women make fun of men.

They need to see this for themselves.

Ok. Then do it.
