I’ve loved reading comics as a relaxing pastime.  These days, it’s hard to find anything good.

I love the “weirder” characters in comics.  Ozymandias (as you can tell by my avatar), Venom, Sabretooth, Hawkeye, Falcon, War Machine, stuff like that.  I think I got the love of comics from my dad.  I knew his favorite hero was always Wolverine.  That being said, I wonder what he’d think of this…

Apparently, as a part of the “all-new, all-different” Marvel universe, they’re now not only going to have a female Thor, but a female WOLVERINE.  It’s technically X-23, but seriously…this whole “changing the characters” thing is getting old.  I know some may argue “they’re just passing down the mantle,” but all I can think of is, “OF COURSE it’s female.”

I was going to ask if this was a joke, but then I remembered female Thor.

I think it’s time to stop buying comics for awhile until they yank their heads out of their asses. Let’s look to Star Wars.

I, too, enjoy the weird characters. Spider-Man’s rogues in particular are awesome. Daredevil was my favorite for a while, still pretty far up there and he’s got Bullseye and some other cool villains as well. The X-Men had a great thing going, too, but then f~~~ing Fox and that goddamn hag Lauren Shuler-Donner had to f~~~ up the films and now Marvel’s trying to cut ties. FF were my favorite for a while…still are, when there’s good writer. Just feel like the whole company’s been taken over by female editors and pussy-begging, white knight mangina writers.
You know what the funny thing is? I was just doodling a female Juggernaut today. If I were more talented, I would have made it into a pseudo-magazine cover but as it stands, I just added a word balloon saying, “Call me JUGGernaut!” (in reference to the Vanity Fair “Call me Caitlyn” cover) and a caption box that read “Will Striker tweets: ‘Yeah, still calling you Caine'”. It’s not my best work, but it was fun to do and I love poking fun at all the PC bulls~~~ Marvel’s been doing lately. Also did a sketch of the Ancient One looking incredulous and saying, “They want WHO to play me?!”

Been catching up on my Secret Wars tie-ins…they have a f~~~ing obsession with mixed-race females in almost everyone single one of them. The Black Widow in the 2099 tie-in looks EXACTLY like Nicki Minaj, it sucks. Also read Star Wars…it’s not good. Aaron’s dialog is making Han into a pussy-beggar. Marvel’s awful right now.

I’m getting tired of every super hero that I enjoyed reading as a child turned into a woman because, “Women are great too.” That tripe is getting old. There are plenty of female super hero’s that are awesome and that I enjoyed. I don’t see the feminists turning female super hero’s male for equality sake. Of course, we all know that aren’t interested in that.

Yea kinda p~~~es me off really, they just had to invade another male space SMH. Everyone knows women are to dull to have their own hobbies yet alone the mental sustenance to truly appreciate it. If you ask them the origins of their favorite characters they’re always wrong and way off base, off universes actually. Dc/Marvel it’s the same to them and anyone who reads comics knows that they are NOT the same. I’ve also heard that the male writers are NOT to happy and might purposely sabotage all the fem characters. We’ll just have to see.

    Let’s look to Star Wars.

Yea, and I wouldn’t get my hopes up on Star Wars either since the franchise has been sold outright to Disney and those greedy whores would love nothing than to ruin that as well.

You’d think they would just do Wonder Woman.

Anyway, politics aside for a moment they have done comic book heroes to death and most are pretty similar if you break it right down. So just like talk of a Black James Bond, and a black Nordic God in the Thor movie, they are trying desperately to make the same crap look new, so you get a Female Thor which is just plain wrong given they have the chance to create a whole new character based on a Female Nordic Goddess, and now we have a female Wolverine.

Their “Reinventions” are just artistic bankruptcy.

Now on the Political side it is all Social Engineering whether it be making Male Characters Female or making White ones Black. Same as when you watch American TV shows, how many bosses are black in those shows!

That’s why I avoid anything like that, always gets ruined by the greedy, especially invading t~~~s.

See the below picture and laugh in glorious anger:

Bottom right, as you can tell.  Apparently Old Man Logan is giving his suit and name of “Wolverine” to X-23.  It’s still a stupid idea.

I do find it funny that they’re taking Cap and Logan (and presumably Thor) out and making them older…won’t that intensify their patriarchy powers? Because if there’s something feminists hate more than straight, white, cis-gendered males, it’s OLD straight, white, cis-gendered males.

Nothing should be surprising anymore. Just assume all superheros will either be female, homosexual or transgender sometime in the future. Glad I’ve never been all that interested in Marvel or DC comics.

Now they’re also talking about a Blade film series revival with Wesley Snipes…now, that sounded awesome until they said he would be playing a “mentor” role to Blade’s daughter, who would take over for him. Nothing is “sacred.”

Yeah, I heard about this. DC’s feeling the loss of fans now with the DC YOU initiative (they’re purportedly only holding about $2M now); only a matter of time before the same thing happens at Marvel. Besides, with Image, Darkhorse, IDW, and other indie companies letting creators actually DO what they want to, they’re going to make a killing while the Big 2 scratch their heads over what they’re doing wrong.

So DC You is a failure? I haven’t been keeping up with them since the New 52 thing.

I haven’t much been either, but apparently the costs of moving from NY to LA was more expensive than they had predicted and the DC YOU initiative as well as the Convergence event didn’t sell nearly as much as DC was hoping for. That being said, they said they were going to stick to their guns and not go back.

If the New 52 and “DC You” are a success and bring in new readers then great. But it wasn’t the same DC Universe I grew up with anymore. Plus New 52, based on what I read about it, sounded rushed and half-assed.

Also I’ll put this out there. I am not too familiar with X-23 but I’ve read good things about her, people seem to like the character. That said I have to wonder all this stuff Marvel has done recently is part of their ongoing “f~~~ you” to Fox. Let’s look at some of it.

    1. Cancelled Fantastic Four comic
    2. Killed off Logan
    3. Introducing the “Old Man Logan” version in the ‘new’ combined marvel universe
    4. Female Wolverine

Is f~~~ing with Fox the only motivation? I don’t think so. But I can’t help but think that the guys at Marvel have had some good laughs with all this.

Admittedly, I was not reading comics for long before the New 52 rolled around, but I still go back and read them now and again. I feel like there was a hell of a lot more heart and personality to the characters whereas now, it seems all sanitized of its quirks so that they can fast-track ideas into films. I feel like all of the best New 52 stories could have either fit in fine or even been enhanced by being in the universe before the New 52.

No, I don’t think so because if you look at the Avengers as well, Cap is now Sam Wilson, Thor is a woman (Jane Foster), Hulk is getting replaced by Amadeus Cho, Nova is Sam Alexander, Spider-Man is Miles Morales, Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan, etc.

My opinion? The MU is trying to get money from the “social justice” crowd because their films are popular with young people and especially on Tumblr, so they’re trying to complain to the lefts complaints. In the end, I’m predicting any old fan with self-respect will dump them, their fickle new fans will leave them as soon as they’re offended, and they’ll keep making money off their films.

If they offend their old fanbase, and the new ones just passes by, then how can they make money? It might be the end of more characters, and cancellation of proposed movies.

They don’t think about it that way, though. I’ve been noticing this a lot in big corporations lately and I think it’s a huge contributing factor to why the economy is going down the s~~~ter. Like DC, Marvel has made short-term decisions in hopes of achieving long-term financial success and have drastically overestimated the SJW dollar, especially since so few of them:

    A) Have any sort of disposable income (hard to pay $3.99 a comic on a barista’s salary)
    B) Ever actually read the comics
    C) Will stick around considering they think literally everything is “problematic”

They are a fickle and financially unstable fan base and yet the Big Two keep trying to go after them because they’re the loudest on social media and that’s pretty much the only way these companies can get feedback anymore. At this point, DC and Marvel can go broke because they’ve pretty much let me know what they think of fans like me. Image, Darkhorse, IDW, the European market, etc. will all be getting my dollar now, which is fine by me because it means higher royalties are going to the creators themselves rather than the corporations they work for. There’s some truly fantastic talent out there and they are usually less expensive because, again, less money is going to Disney and Warner Bros. and more to the creators. The best is when you can find creators that sell their work directly online so that they get nearly 100% of the profit.
