Oh my, this is getting interesting…

Just checked back in on that Female First thread I linked. I applaud one of the posters for her sensibilities. This person has over 12K posts on that site, so it must be a legitimate member. Paragraphs added by me, so it’s easier on the eyes:

SOME of those guys made solid, salient points. Brad Pitt is hardly the poster child for an overweight man or unattractive man and was hardly obese in the picture.

This is just my personal opinion: Pitt may have lots of faults, but if you are calling him ugly, fat or pick apart his looks in an extreme way, you are going to lose credibility. Does he still look 35 years old? No. Does he look stressed and full of angst during the midst and fall out of dealing with a mentally ill viper and predator? Yes, anyone would. No cosmetic procedure or diet can cover that kind of psychological warfare.

I can appreciate people finding him undesirable because of his treatment of his first ex-wife and choosing Angelina Jolie

I am not his fan and have not seen a movie of his since 2005, but calling him ugly as sin, picking apart his body parts and features multiple times makes it look like you have an axe to grind that has nothing to do with Brad Pitt, so IMO, I can see why some of them made the comments they did. JMO

The bold part which is italicized is the most telling. For these women, it’s all psychological/emotional. That’s what it boils down to. They’re p~~~ed about how he left his first wife. That says it all. So much so, that the most sensible person who posted STILL hasn’t seen a movie of his since 2005.

S~~~, if I held the position that art and the artist were NOT mutually exclusive, I would barely be able to appreciate ANY art form in this world.

I appreciate the person who posted the above; it was brutally honest. Still, I find it funny that she says “does he still have the looks of a 35 yo”. Seriously? He’s better looking than 95% of all men in the world. The standards/expectations are a bit off of the charts.
