I just got word a couple of days ago that my ex girlfriend has moved out of state to another line of work. I work for a major electrical parts distributor. About a year and half after we broke up she became a salesman for one of our competitors. I was shocked that out of all the industries on this planet that she went to work for the same one as myself. I am very happy that the she is not in my playground anymore. I find it embarrassing that she worked for them. Like she was trying to compete with me or one up me. Good riddance to her.

    Not really shocking.

Woman dates a musician. She goes hear this band play. Hangs out at his club. Pretends to like his music even when it sucks…….

…. a few years later, she dates a race car driver. Now she goes to the track to watch. Take an interest in cars……

…. then she dates a hockey player. Now she goes to games. Hangs out in sports bars, Pretends to love sports…….

…. a few years later, she dates a lawyer. Now she sits in on his cases. Watches Law & Order. Criminal minds……

    ….. you get the idea.

She’s an “empty vessel” – or like water that takes the shape of whatever container it is in. Her interests are not really HERS on her own. And with each leap, she lost those interests in sports, music, or law because they were never hers, only through HIM.

This is how it’s possible to meet a woman 10 years after you split with her, and she’s barely recognizable anymore. It’s like you never knew her at all.

Her current field is only because she dated you.
Not because she would have pursued it on her own.

Off all professions to choose, she went into sales for one of your competitors.

Like she was trying to compete with me or one up me

    Yup.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
